LMW , Truely Custom Artwork!

Langley Metal Works is a family owned business that was formed by husband and wife team, Jessica and Curtis Langley. Jessica is an accomplished artist, using many different mediums, while Curtis enjoys working with machines and fabrication. The pairing of their two talents is a recipe made for success.
When the business was formed, Jessica was working for a landscaping company as the office manager, and Curtis was a high school Agriculture teacher who specialized in Ag Mechanics instruction. Jessica pitched the idea of a few promotional items she had created to her boss for gifts at an upcoming company party as a way to make a little extra cash. She enlisted the help of Curtis and his welding and fabrication skills to provide the product she had designed, a customized branding iron with the company’s logo. The finished product was the hit of the party! Several similar experiences with custom metal work that Jessica designed and Curtis built followed and thus the business began. After completing several custom metal jobs for friends, they identified the need for their services and soon realized that owning their own business and providing a unique product to extremely satisfied customers was their ultimate goal.
Before changing this from a hobby and side job into a true business, the husband and wife team researched the market to determine the keys to success in the industry. After researching the vendors and industry, they came to the conclusion that truly custom art made from metal was in limited supply. So they began Langley Metal Works to meet the need and provide 100% custom art work, for commercial and personal use, at a reasonable price. Having a fluid business plan and adapting to market needs while maintaining the desire to provide excellent customer service and a custom quality product has allowed Jessica and Curtis to grow their business and become successful.
Many metal fabrication shops across the country provide custom work for walk-in customers but few machine shops have the ability to take a person’s rough idea of a finished product and turn it into a work of art, such as a self portrait made of metal or a gate that tells the story and heritage of 50 years of farming at that location. Langley Metal Works does just that! Additionally, they are able to offer this truly custom product to the guy down the street or a client that is 4,000 miles away, thanks to a website built and maintained by Jessica. They provide one-of-a-kind designs and have the talent to incorporate these pieces of art work into many different structures, such as signs, wall hangings, murals, etc. that are shipped all across the United States as well as internationally. Additionally, they are able to build and install fully operational objects such as gates and outdoor furniture that can be customized. Langley Metal works is also proud to distinguish their products, and all components of their products, as American Made, proudly made in Hico, Texas.

Farm and Ranch Sign FAQ

What's included: Custom metal sign only. Optional hangers and offsets sold separately.

What's it made of: New heavy duty 11 ga steel

How's it finished : Professionally powder coated for superior protection from the elements

How do I hang it: We normally add one hole in the top left and top right corner for easy hanging. They can be hung with s hooks or fastened to the wall.

How heavy is the sign: We won't be able to give you an exact measurement but just know signs will be heavy and appropriate anchor systems will be needed to hang your sign securely.

Farm and Ranch Sign Design and Sizing

Can I request a change to an existing sign design: Yes, we design each sign so we can usually accommodate small changes.

I found a really cool design by another sign company. Can you cut it for me: No, sorry. We do not copy others designs. We also do not cut trademarked logos.

Can I order a different size of this design: The signs can be ordered in larger sizes. Due to the fine detail we unable to reduce the size of the sign in most cases.

I have a plasma cutter business, can I buy your cut files: No sorry, the custom farm sign files are not for sale.

Farm and Ranch Sign Proof

I don't want to buy a sign just yet, can you just draw up a couple of proofs for me to see if I like it: I'd love to, but each sign proof requires a lot of time to produce. If you would like to see a proof first, we ask that a deposit be placed before we start the project. The deposit is credited back to the balance of the sign once the proof has been approved. The link to purchase the deposit is below. As always you can purchase the sign listing in full which has the proof deposit included.

Farm and Ranch Sign Proof Process

Once the complete sign listing or deposit has been purchased and all important information has been gathered we will start drawing the proof. Please allow up to a 5 day turnaround to create you proof. We may send quick screenshots of in progress work to make sure we are on the right track. We will then send a rendered pdf proof of the sign for you to view. You can approve the work or suggest improvements to the sign. We will make up to two edits on the custom sign then it will be an extra $20 per revised proof. All proofs and correspondence will be made through Etsy so be sure to check you emails as we will need approval prior to cutting. If you do not respond to our email proofs you order will be canceled and all money will be ref

Farm and Ranch Sign Shipping

How do you ship the signs and how much is shipping going to cost: Most of our custom signs ship via UPS Ground. Smaller signs may ship through USPS Priority Mail. The shipping cost depend on the weight and size of the sign. Generally speaking most signs 24" - 36" will be $35-$50 to ship.

This sign is a gift. Can you ship directly to the recipient? Yes, just be sure to enter their address for the ship to.

How will the sign be packaged? The sign will be wrapped in a protective layer of foam and then packaged in a UPS approved box.

I received the sign, how do I clean it? You can wipe it down with a regular cleaner and a soft rag. Powder coating does not require much maintenance.

What is the current turnaround time for custom signs?

Our turnaround is
~1-3 days for a custom proof
~ 2-4 days on signs that need minimal changes
~1-2 weeks for full custom signs

These are just estimates and some custom orders are need special attention and time to create. If you are on a tight deadline please contact us to make arrangements.

Please keep in mind that the actual shipping time will vary depending on your shipping address. The shipping time should be added to the turnaround times listed above.

What if my sign is delayed while in transit?
We understand that this can be frustrating but unfortunately we cannot control the external circumstances of the shipping process and will not be held responsible.

I need this as soon as possible. Do you rush ship?
Of course! We will do our best to accommodate you with an ADDITIONAL FEE. Please message us directly with the exact date of when you will be needing the item(s) by.

What do I do if my item was damaged in shipping?

In the event that the item arrives damaged, please contact us IMMEDIATELY in order for us to file a claim with the shipping service and ship out a replacement to you as soon as possible. Please retain the damaged contents and packaging in case further inspection may be required by the shipping provider.

What is the return policy for personalized and non personalized items?

Personalized items:
Unfortunately, all custom orders are FINAL SALE. This is due to the custom nature of our products and the extra time and effort that are required. We appreciate your understanding!

NON-personalized items:
We would be happy to accommodate returns if you contact us within 3 days of receiving your package and ship back to us within 14 days of delivery. Please keep in mind that the item(s) must be unused and undamaged and that you are responsible for the cost related to return shipping.
