Lannie's Design Story
Lannie's Design was founded on August of 2012 by yours truly, Lannie Armstrong along with my husband Michael. When my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer on November 2012, we wondered how we are going to help her. This jewelry making business had been a huge blessing to us during those days. We have been using 90% of our profits from our jewelry sales to support her medication and treatments.
Growing up from a family with limited resources, I have learned how to be creative and resourceful based on what is available. I've always love creating, designing and selling. I know if I have not been a teacher, I would have been a business woman. And I am so blessed that my husband is very supportive of whatever I wanted to do.
I started posting pictures of the jewelries I made on facebook and on my blog. On November 2012, I organized my very first jewelry party in one of our friends house which was attended mostly by our friends from our church. In 2013, I was able to organize four jewelry parties.
We have some friends who have told us about etsy.com. Some of them are also shop owners and we heard a lot of good feedback from them. Since then we have been interested in opening Lannie's Design shop so we can reach more audience. So in January 20, 2014 we opened our shop and had our very first customer on February 7, 2014.

We are committed to making affordable jewelries and accessories with high quality materials. We use nickel-free findings to avoid skin irritations and antiqued plated charms and findings because they don't tarnish right away. We also have some timeless gemstones and sterling silver (925) jewelries for those love precious metals and stones.
Just to let you know, your purchases goes farther than you can imagine because we use our sales for the following purposes:
1. Medical Mission Trip Fund Raising.
We are privileged to work along side in an organization called Medmission2000, Inc., which is a non-profit USA registered organization who does medical mission, prison ministry and feeding programs to different parts of the Philippines. Every year, we try to make it a point to join the team to be able to help poor people in the Philippines and we raise our fund through our jewelry sales.
2. Help Treat our Mom's Cancer.
Our Mom Helen Simacas, who is in the Philippines, is fighting breast cancer since 2012. She doesn't have medical insurance just like many ordinary Filipinos. Our sales helps her a lot whenever she need financial help for her test and medical expenses.
3. Help our small family.
Having a one-income family is tough but every sales helps us a little especially when we have unexpected extra expenses.
We make jewelries because we love it. Handcrafting things is a very fulfilling thing to do and it brings joy whenever we hear compliments from all of you. We make affordable handmade jewelries and accessories because we want to make it available for the majority and we want to bring delight to you whenever you wear our piece/s.
