Artist commissioned a painting for me and it's beautiful! She really listened to what I wanted. Thanks again!

About

Craving to Create

About 4 years ago I dove into the world of online art selling by opening my shop here! I started painting regularly (as opposed to the wishy-washy, scattered, once in a blue-moon way I'd been doing before). I dug into my creativity and the more I pushed myself to put paint on canvas, the more I desired to create.

My artwork is two things...

1. It's meaningful
Each painting is created with a world behind it. Some are done more quickly or with more thought than others but each has its individual idea lurking under it. People's actions are NOT meaningless. Every one of YOUR details and action has a story. If we knew them all we'd be overwhelmed. In the same way my artwork is more than just a pretty picture.

I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to do purposeless things. I struggle to create art that has a story behind it, because if there is nothing behind it, I wouldn't want it on my own wall...let alone yours.

2. It's Contemporary and Fresh
I often use a palette knife and clean pops of color to accent my artwork. It gives my painting a modern look. Thick saturated color originally drew me to oils. I liked the way oils look, the textures built up, the opaqueness of the color.

Color adds character to this life. Have you ever been driving down the road and seen a building that was painted an obnoxiously bright color? You couldn't help looking. In the same way, the color I add to my paintings brings them to life. Each dab of color gives focus to some part of the painting, just like the painting will bring a focus to the room in your house and make it come alive.

So hopefully some of my artwork caught your eye like an obnoxiously bright building. Thanks for looking! I'd like to know some of your story and always look forward to chatting with you through Etsy or Facebook.

I grew up in the amazon jungles of Peru. I still climb trees on a regular basis (mostly because I work with kids but also because it's still part of me). I'll be moving back to Peru with my husband soon to put my artwork to further beautiful uses.
