Announcement   Welcome! I make brightly colored mixed media art using hand cut paper, acrylic paints and collage elements. Some of my inspirations are song lyrics, mythology, yoga, and children's book illustrations. The prints are archival giclée print reproductions, sometimes digitally altering the color and composition to create a new feeling in the work. They're open edition because I'd be really sad if my favorite musicians only released 200 copies of a song even though the technology they use to record can create an unlimited amount of perfect copies.

About

Artist turned Mom turned Artist

My art is inspired by
nature, memories, and dreams.
As a child, I was taught
to appreciate the beauty and
intricacies of the natural world.
I also like including silly stories in my work, for example, the fisherman who
doesn’t know there is an enormous musky underneath his hook.

I use a variety of papers in the collages, including tissue, wrapping, magazine, and handmade. So, each color you see is individually cut with a scissors. My studio looks like piles of confetti with varying shapes, colors and sizes when I am
working on a new piece.

The high quality ink prints are all based on, or scanned from my hand-cut paper collages. Sometimes, I'll change the colors digitally to create a new feeling in the print.

When my friends started having babies and decorating their nurseries, I knew that I wanted to halt my formerly serious, feminist artistic style and do something more fun and light. The chain store art that I saw seemed boring and uninspiring. I started my shop shortly after my darling son was born. Planning the nursery (and leaving the draining, straining corporate world) sparked a rewarding creative path, creating art for my son, family and friends.

Additional policies and FAQs
I am happy to work with you on a custom order, however, please be prepared for an in depth email discussion regarding your project. This may include requesting photos of the space where you intend to place the art; and questions about your color and personal style preferences. Working with you to create a perfect art piece to suit your needs is my goal.

Please note that the paintings and collages will look better in person when you are able to see the fine brushstrokes and variations in hue or texture. Collages may have brush lines from the glue and small bubbles.
