Artist Bio
Lauren Braney is from Fredericksburg, Virginia and is currently teaching high school studio art at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts at Colgan High School in Manassas, VA. Lauren has had a love affair with clay since high school and worked with it while attaining her B.A. in Studio Art from the University of Mary Washington in 2015. In 2016, gaining her Masters of Ed. at the University of Mary Washington, her passion grew and developed her own personal styles and forms as a potter within the Fredericksburg area.
Her desire in teaching high school students to throw and in 3D media is that they will fall in love with these mediums as well. Currently, she throws pottery out of her home in any spare time she can find to show, create and relax. When Lauren isn’t covered in clay you can almost always find her outside with her dog enjoying the nature that surrounds us, all things that inspire her work.
