A few bumps along the way but the seller gave the best customer service i have ever experienced on Etsy. I really adore the bag and the fact that it's completely unique.

About

We are unique individuals and we should all dress as such.

the Lazy Designer it's me, Bobbi Arbore. The nickname was given to me by one of my teachers at fashion school and again by the head designer of a furnishing company I used to work with. It's because I'm laid back, I like comfortable things and clothes, and I don't have the ambition and crave for recognition that all designers have.

To me, clothes should represent who you are. They are a form of expression. They shouldn't be a uniform. This is one of the two reasons why I make almost only unique pieces. I like to think that what you buy in my shop will be only yours. The other reason is that sewing the same design in different sizes is boring and I would not do it for all the money in the world. I need to create new things constantly.

I have a reverse approach to designing my garments. Usually, you draw something and then you search for the right fabric, but I like to do the other way around. I go to buy the fabrics and it's the color, the pattern or the feel of the material that suggests me the design. So I draw a sketch and then I sew the garment. While I sew, the design grows and changes organically, this is one other reason why I cannot make duplicates ( so the reasons are three, not two ). When I sew, even if I start with an idea in mind, I can end up having a totally different thing. I once began sewing a pair of harem trousers that became a jacket! And a cool one!

You may be pleased to know that most of all of my leathers and most of my fabrics come from high ends design companies: I buy what's left of their materials from previous collections, so I'll have wonderful materials and I'll avoid implementing the making of new leathers plus the waste of what already exists. You'll never find anything that contains fur in my shop. I hate it.

I've studied Fashion and then after a few years in the clothing industry as a stylist I left Milan (being one of the capital cities for fashion and design it's a move all designers would do, right?) and came to live where I am still living, in the country near lake Garda. I worked for many years as an interior decorator, stylist, psychotherapist to my boss and social worker to my colleagues, and when the company closed down I had the brilliant idea of opening up a shop. I've had the shop for four years and it nearly killed me. It started well, but the last two years were terrible and I closed it down.

I already had an Etsy shop at the time but I wasn't really giving much attention to it because the brick and mortar one was sucking away all my time. And money. And maybe also blood and will to live, but I'm okay now. Now I am focusing on my Etsy shop full time and I am highly enjoying working from home. It was what I wanted as a child, to work from home as an entrepreneur, and God knows how children are always right.

Random facts:.

I always wanted to live free from conformity, in the country, near a lake or the sea, because I adore swimming, water is my element. I'm also an avid reader, a music junkie and I'll watch every period movie that has ever been made. I love history.

Being profoundly in love with nature and animals (as you may have imagined by the cat on my logo) I became a vegetarian in my early teens

I would not want to use leathers as I hate to use animal products, but I think it would be nonsense to buy only vegan materials when there is unfortunately still so much leather around. Waste is disrespectful in so many ways. In my ideal world, there are only eco-friendly, cruelty-free, vegan products, but we're not entirely there yet.

Catch up with me on my blog , Instagram or Facebook, I love to connect with people.

Thanks for reading!! Hugs to you all!!

Do you get a hundred emails a day and it's all junk you don't care about? Me too. Does your mailbox get filled with annoying newsletters that try to sell you stuff you don't need? Me too!
My newsletter is different. My newsletter is actually barely there. Mostly I forget I have one until I get some promotion going and then I remember to reach out and give discount codes. Discount codes on something made as a unique piece are a cool thing. Sign up. I'm too lazy to write frequently.
