About

One small step at a time.

My current work is an exploration of form and function, and the marriage of those two elements with various clay bodies and surface design. I truly appreciate small acts of beauty in our everyday lives and strive to create items that I believe in as an artist as well as a customer. I never grow tired of interesting textures and love to find subtle glaze combinations that work to accentuate the overall form and small details rather than cover up or detract from them. I also love the idea of creating a piece that only exists in the world once, therefore all of my work is one of a kind and has a distinct style which is very recognizable. I am primarily focused on hand building and mixed media and create both functional as well as sculptural work. When thinking of, or creating ideas, I strive towards making things that I would love to have and use in my own home, and I believe that the enthusiasm for my work shows in every piece I make. In addition, I find immense value in imperfection and age, but also hope to create work that transcends a particular time or place. I hope you enjoy all that you find here and return often to discover new work!
