Bold and Bright Botanical Photography
When, as a teenager, I turned my lens around and took my first macro photograph of a flower, it revealed to me something new in the dahlias that had been growing in our garden since I was a child.
I noticed each petal, unfurling one by one, as if released by the mere touch of the sun. They seemed to be layered so tightly in the center that there could be a whole other universe at the core beneath them. That photo made me see everything differently from then on.
The potential in each bloom that I could only truly know with a macro lens captivated me. So, once armed with a proper macro lens, I photographed every flower I could find.
Time feels slower when you look through a macro lens, hovering between planes of focus, trying to find the one place where it all makes sense. Every detail matters when you are looking so closely, and they are infinite. You can see so far into a flower that you would swear you found a life force - a whole universe - inside a bloom.
I hail from South Carolina and have also lived in North Carolina and Wyoming. Currently I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I am married and the new mom of a sweet baby girl.

Shipping
I ship via the United States Postal Service.
My photographs are printed by a third party on a per order basis. I then check every print myself before I send it out, and this can lead to a turnaround time of two weeks, though usually it is faster. If you feel something should have arrived, convo me and I'd be glad to tell you when it shipped. If, after contacting me, you believe it has been lost in the mail, please contact the post office. If the package is returned to me as "unclaimed," I will notify you and will require additional charges to reship it.
I only have shipping quotes to a few countries, but if you want an order shipped somewhere else, please convo me and I can get a quote from the post office. Shipping out of the United States frequently takes more time and can be held up in customs. Please be aware that once a package is out of the country, I have no way of locating it. Orders that are shipped to countries outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment is responsible for any of these additional fees. Please be aware of this if you are sending an item as a gift.
If you want to have your order shipped to an address that differs from what is listed on your Etsy account, please contact me with that information. If your order is a gift, let me know and I won't include the invoice. I can also include a gift message on your behalf. Jut let me know in the "Message to Seller" what you'd like to say to the recipient.
