5 out of 5 starsThis clay rendition of a rose is a stunning design by Leah. I was looking for nature art of different mediums compared to what I already own. I stumbled across Leah’s shop and purchased two of her works and I am ecstatic about them. In person, you can see that each petal is a multitude of colors, blended together, cut and formed into shapes to make this piece come together. Each leaf has texture and movement, as a real flower petal does. Leah even put movement into the background, but a different texture than that of flower petals, creating contrast and light reflection to make your eye move around the piece. The pieces were wrapped well, and could have been given as gifts out of the box. Leah included some words about her inspiration and a lovely note. It arrived quickly to the US from Australia.

5 out of 5 starsThis item is gorgeous. The picture itself on the listing was beautiful, but to see it in person and see how tiny the little balls of clay actually are leaves me speechless. I can’t imagine how much time this piece took. My favorite part is that as you hold and turn the piece, you can see very slight reflections of fingerprints on some of the balls of clay. A quiet reminder a clever artist made this, not a machine, and the human connection lives on. The piece was wrapped well and could have been given as a gift. Leah included information about each piece as to her inspiration and a very kind note. Shipping was quick from AU to US.

This artwork titled 'Gratitude' is my favourite polymer clay pointillism artwork that I've created.
Unique polymer clay art
My name is Leah Radlett, and I'm a part-time Librarian and polymer clay artist. I live in South Australia with my husband and two kids.
I have always loved to draw and paint, and would spend hours creating artworks as a child.
I drifted away from art in my early adult years, but returned to my first love as my children grew older. I discovered polymer clay in 2016 and have never looked back! I love the tactile nature of polymer clay and the amazing texture that can be achieved.
I have developed a unique style of pointillism using polymer clay. Pointillism was originally developed in the impressionism art period and involved artists creating works that were made up of lots of tiny dots, usually with paint. Instead of using paint, I use many small balls of clay. The object (or picture) of my pieces can be seen from a distance more clearly and the texture appreciated close up.
I have also created what I call polymer clay paintings. These are artworks where the polymer clay has been smeared onto the base to achieve a paint-like effect. Unlike many paintings, the use of polymer clay allows for a lot more texture, so these artworks are very textural in nature.
Most of my pieces are 4 inches square, and take over 5 hours to create; the larger pieces much longer. I mix all the colours of clay usually before I start and add the colours to a polymer clay base either as tiny balls of polymer clay, or smeared to create a paint-effect. The finished polymer clay tile is then baked in the oven.
I draw my inspiration for my artworks from my Christian faith; the beauty of the natural world; and the way light is represented in life.
I show my process via my Instagram account @leah_radlett if you're interested in learning more.
I hope you enjoy your visit to my shop. Please message me if you would like more information.
