About LeahsTailsnScales

Sales 428
On Etsy since 2010

Hi! My name is Leah Vit and I have been interested in art and animals my whole life. Because of my love of animals, they are the main subject matter of most of my work. My favorite animals are dogs, lizards, snakes, and frogs.

My main medium is polymer clay. I have worked with it for almost 20 years. In 2004, I began selling my artwork at The Windmill, a farm and craft market in Penn Yan, and since then I have expanded to other craft shows, animal related events, and Etsy.

I make clay jewelry, figurines, nativities, ornaments, and accessories featuring various animals. I have made over 70 breeds and varieties of dog pins. I also enjoy the challenge of custom orders.

I have a Biology degree and minored in art in college. I took several printmaking courses as well as digital photography and drawing. Because of my scientific background, I have an eye for detail and really understand the subject matter. I hope to have a career working with reptiles and amphibians in either a zoo or doing conservation, while still crafting on the side.

Thanks for visiting my shop!

Please contact the seller if you have any problems with your order.

Payment

I accept personal checks, Paypal, or credit cards directly. There is no specific time period necessary for payment, but prompt payment is preferred. The sooner I get the payment, the sooner you will receive your item.

Shipping

I use USPS for shipping. Small items are wrapped in tissue paper and shipped in bubble mailer envelopes. Larger items will also be wrapped in tissue paper or bubble wrap and may be shipped in any type of box that I have that fits the item. I try to be environmentally friendly and cost efficient, so all shipping boxes, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, and air pillows are reused. Prints will be wrapped up between pieces of cardboard or foamcore to prevent bending. I will generally mail out your item within 5 days of receiving your payment and I will notify you when the item has been sent. Occasionally it may take over a week until I ship an item because I sell my items elsewhere and I may only have access to them on Saturdays, but if this is the case, I will be sure to notify you of the delay. Any specific shipping requests are welcome, just be sure to notify me and be aware that some extra shipping charges may apply.

If you are in the Rochester, NY area or near Batavia, NY, you may pick up your order in person instead of having it shipped to you. Please contact me to make specific arrangements for pickup.

International Shipping: I am willing to ship outside of the U.S. by request. Please contact me if you need something shipped internationally and I can figure out shipping cost accordingly. Also be aware of the extra shipping time.

Additional policies and FAQs

All custom orders will require full payment (or a non-refundable partial deposit by request) before I start your order. Custom orders may be subject to a small price increase over pre-made items.
