Announcement    Hi there and welcome to my shop!

For the next few weekends of August I will be doing shows every weekend, so will be busy! I'll be out of the shop often, so any orders received during this time I'll be processing them as quickly as I can. I can still answer messages if you need to reach me. Thank you for your patience and see you soon!

Always wanted something fun & geeky to wear but don't like the quality you find, or just plain allergic to the cheap metal used in commercial merch found at conventions? You're not alone!

I'm an artisan jeweller who is a gamer, and into anime, si-fi/fantasy and general all around geek who loves going to conventions way before selling at them! One huge issue I have is I can't wear anything cool I find there because of my allergies to nickle, zinc, and cadmium. Plus I hate shoddy craftsmanship!

I was an artist before I became a jeweller, so I'm always looking for cool & creative ideas to make into jewellery. And being picky about the quality and durability of my work allows me to make things my friends and myself can wear with pride everywhere. Because if you're like me, you want to show your geek side 24/7 even outside of a con! Take it from someone who wears their FFVII jewellery and never takes it off!

As a fellow gamer & all around geek, I get the passion and love of the fandoms. When I'm out at cons, I get inspired by all the amazing cosplayers and fellow fans who just want to share their love of their fandom. And what I want is to offer precious metal jewellery that is high quality and durable so we can continue sharing our love of all things geeky! So if you are like me and are looking for high quality geek jewellery that speaks your language, you've come to the right place!

I recieved a request for a custom set of wayfinder pendant and earrings for a customer, and just finished carving it last night! Hope to have these on my page by next month! The piece is carved in hard jewellery wax.
When folks ask how I make my silver, I try to explain how lost wax casting works. I think this helps to visualize better! There are about 50 cast jewellery pieces on this casting tree! And that's what fresh cast silver looks like!
Sitting at the polishing bench and cleaning up some beautiful pieces for my stock, including restocking my WoW jewellery!

How I became a jeweller by fluke!

Allow me to give a short and bizarre story about my start into my jewellery career..

I started out as an art student, but found out about a DEP program in jewellery-making from a roommate who was in the class but hated it. I looked at his projects and said to myself "Hey! I can do that!" 2 years later in 1998 I finished my classes and started working for a wholesale production shop for Hanoush Jewellers for 2 years, then a variety of jewellery repair shops, apprenticed as a wax modelest, then 6 years as the technician and assistant manager of a jewellery store. All the while I was building up my workshop and inventory with a variety of my creations as well as some vintage 1940's designs from Bijoutrie Thibadault who closed in 1998. I was also doing 2 shows a year to get me into practice and test my market.

In 2010 I got fed up of being paid 11$/hour as a trades persons and decided to start working for myself. Lucky for me I had 12 years to build up my workshop enough that I could do everything but the casting from my home based workshop and have some starting inventory! With the help of my husband Steven, I started to sell at more shows, and even opened my Etsy shop!

My passion for creating jewellery, along with having worked 6 days a week in a jewellery store for 6 years, gave me the drive and the energy to do this. I just love it! I am also a member of the Montreal Gem & Mineral club where I offer my time to help others to earn how to create their own pretties with their own stones.

Frequently asked questions
Does the items have tracking?

Most of my items don't have tracking unless to the USA, but those that do will have it written on the listing, such as my custom gold jewellery, bracelets and such. But If you order and you decide you want an upgrade, message me and I'll tell you what the difference is and how to send the balance for it. Also please check to be sure if you pick a shipping upgrade it's for your country! Also note the costs are calculated by the postal service.

Do you do custom work? How long does it take?

Yes I do, and usually it's 1-2 months to do depending on the time of the year and if I already have orders on my plate. I do try to keep you up to date on the progress and send photos. So ask away! Also note I don't take custom orders during the holiday season due to work overload!

Wholesale availability

I can offer wholesale orders. Message me with your requests and I'll give you a special code for it!

Sizing details

All my sizings are done using the standard US ring sizes. If you order the wrong size, please let me know. You can send it back, and I'll resize it for you. You'll have to cover the shipping costs back to me and return shipping to you, but I'm more than happy to help!

What are the material used in the jewellery?

All the items I make are made in solid metal, not plated. The sterling silver, or .925 silver as some know it as, is 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% copper which is the classic sterling silver. No rhodium or nickle plating! The antique bronze is the classic bronze that the bronze age was named for. It contains 90% copper and 10% tin. I also offer to make jewellery in stainless steel or gold on special order and are made to order only.

Are there chains included?

Sadly no. The cost of sterling silver and bronze chains would end up raising the price of my jewellery, so in stead I sell them separately on my shop section for chains and engraving.

What is antique bronze? Will it turn my skin? And how do I care for it?

The antique bronze contains 90% copper and 10% tin. The bronze can turn your skin green due to the oxidization caused by the copper to the salt and sweat of your skin, but can be easily rectified with either clear enamel or the classic clear nail polish trick! As for cleaning, use liquid silver cleaner and a jewellers polishing cloth to make it shiny and new again.

How do you ship your jewellery?

I use ChitCats Express for most of my shipping as well as Canada Post, and the prices are based on their prices. They are a courier company that uses USPS, so is cheaper than Canda Post. I rather not use other courier companies like FedEx our UPS because they charge the buyer a brokerage fee on top of duty and that sucks all around! If you would rather use them, let me know and I'll create a custom listing for you.

Will bronze change color?

Because of the copper content in the bronze, it will naturally develop a patina over time. The tarnish, or patina, is caused by a chemical reaction between the various metals in the alloy, and acids or other corrosive materials. Acids in the skin can cause uneven tarnish from contact with your skin. If you want to prevent tarnish, keep your bronze item stored in an area with low humidity and protected from dust and other corrosives and chemicals, like hand cream and house cleaning products. If you are storing the item, make sure it's dry and wrap it in plastic or put it in a plastic bag; the more airtight the better. Bronze can be varnished or lacquered, but this will have to be reapplied over time.

What is the return policy of your shop? What about gold?

For all orders except custom orders, personalized, & made to order items such as my gold jewellery, I will accept returns only as long as I am notified within 5 days of receiving it and is mailed back within 14 days of you receiving it in the same condition received. There will be a 15% restocking fee for all items returned and shipping & shipping upgrades are non refundable. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs and refund will be sent once I've received it back in my hands. But I must contacted first, or it will be considered a forced return, thus voiding the refund option. Also forced returns, such as orders that the customer has refused to pay the duty & fees and are returned to me are non-refundable.
