5 out of 5 starsLove these bowls, just playful and elegant at the same time. They are not exactly the same which I like. I feel happy when I look at them! Thanks Leili.

Art, Science, Nature, Form and Color
I’m an English/Iranian/American studio artist, writer, filmmaker and educational technologist. I was raised in a home filled with people of all backgrounds, in one of the oldest African American communities in the North. Growing up in a diverse creative environment breeds love for making and appreciating art. In turn, it's fun to encourage other people to participate in art and creativity, which I believe is the birthright of all.
Studio time is evenly divided between ceramics, photography, painting and jewelry design and fabrication. When I paint, I like the meditative distraction of music, a movie, talking on the phone. When working in the clay studio, I love consulting with my colleagues, and getting lost in technique, surrounded by people. Making wheel-thrown and hand-built stoneware pieces in a collaborative studio focused on systematic learning suits me very well. I'm a bead hoarder and utilize finds I have collected from five continents in my jewelry. And, every day of my life, I take at least one photo.
When I am not actually making things, I spend a lot of time looking at art of all kinds. Science, color, art, math, music, architecture, nature, design, patterns and particular people are all important influences on my art, as are pieces of Persian, English and African American cultures. My process combines purposeful planning, as well as a flexible mindset of learning when things take an unexpected technical or aesthetic turn.
My ceramic work, paintings, jewelry and photographs have been exhibited in the US and Middle East, and reside in collections in America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. More of my work in various media lives here:

Shop policies
Items are priced according to the cost of materials, the unique design, and the amount of training, skill and time I've spent making them. Each ceramic piece takes me many hours, spread out over weeks, to make. And the vintage beads are rare and limited in supply.

Additional policies and FAQs
D O U B L E - C H E C K : Please read each description carefully. I put time into describing the pieces in detail and taking good photographs so that you can have a vivid idea of what you are ordering. Note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor. It’s a good idea to carefully note the dimensions, colors and materials listed in our descriptions—i.e., check the length of a necklace against something you already own, the metal color of a clasp, the size of a bowl—to be sure it’s what you want.
V I N T A G E & H A N D M A D E : Many of the beads I use are 30-60 years old, and as such, have the patina of age, which is part of their charm. The studio ceramics are limited edition art pieces, lovingly hand-made, one by one, thus they are not going to look like what you can purchase at a store with mass-produced items. They are not “perfect”. They’ve got soul.
B L O G S : I’m delighted if you wish to highlight my work on your blog, Twitter, Tumblr, etc., granted you properly credit my work and/or images with “Leili Art & Design” and a link back to me.
C O P Y R I G H T : Leili Art & Design reserves copyrights on all images, photographs, jewelry designs, ceramics designs, painting designs, graphics including avatars and logos, product descriptions and any and all text throughout http://www.LeiliDesign.etsy.com and http://www.leili.org. G I F T S : If you are purchasing a gift that is to be sent directly to the recipient, let me know at checkout. I will not include receipts or invoices. Jewelry is sent in a nifty white gift box with a little card, and decorative tissue inside.
