Fan us on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/FINDINGS-to-make-your-work-sing/284755658660,to get news about new items, sales, coupons etc.

Our "Sterling and Stone" section has affordable assortments of semiprecious stone beads, including some that fit Eurostyle bracelets, as well as other goodies.

"The Basic Makings" has chains, settings, and other rescued-from-the-warehouse goodies, often high-quality USA made items, as well as new components including sterling chains at surprisingly low prices.

PLEASE read our policies section for information on shipping & handling, reserved listings, and returns. I have held the line on shipping through 2 increases in P.O. rates, but am increasing by $.50. This makes it $6- for a small first-class package, but, in addiditon to postage, this covers bubble envelopes, plastic baggies, labels, and trips to and from the P.O. I know it seems high for one item, but a second is only $1.50, and if you spend $35- or more shipping is free. That's the best I can do without adding $6- to the price of every item or losing money. Thanks for your understanding.

We have some things in quantities too small to list and some waiting to be listed. And if we don’t have it we may be able to find it for you, especially if you need a largish quantity. You may also want to cruise on over to our original etsy store, The Creative Block, at http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheCreativeBlock to see some of these things in use as well as some of Leslie’s other original work.

Welcome to Findings by Leslietsy! Because I often buy great stuff in quantity, this shop is a way to share the materials themselves and the savings with other artisans. I hope you'll appreciate and enjoy both the materials and the prices. In addition to new and "new vintage" supplies in various quantities, and the occasional lucky buy of things like stone carvings or glass flowers, I sometimes acquire quantities of vintage "junque". This can be just about anything--jewelry, watches, cigar boxes, metal stamps, doll bodies-- but it's all a one-shot deal, so if you miss out it's gone. Prices on "junque" are usually negotiable, especially if you're buying more than one lot--I price based on what I've paid and what similar items seem to be selling for, but it's not an exact science. I hope you'll check out the shop often enough not to kick yourself for missing a piece you really love and need!

A FEW WORDS ABOUT METALS: PLEASE READ!
We're listing sterling, copper, colored and mixed metals, in addition to Tibetan siver and vintage metal components.

We have no way of being sure whether vintage metals are lead and nickel free. My suppliers often buy unused old stock from estate sales or warehouses in New England, where a lot of jewelry was apparently produced into the '90s. I'm lucky if they know what and how old it is--the formulation is not often available.

We have a few "white metal" pinback settings, which are probably pewter and probably contain lead. Please refrain from sucking on these or giving them to children or animals who put things in their mouths, and use a sealer before selling them, just to be safe!. Some of the old brass appears to contain nickel--I only know this because family members sensitive to the stuff have gone red and itchy when wearing those chains.

Our Tibetan silver is lead free and usually nickel free--I'm told the one exception is that nickel is sometimes used in darker finishes. So far no one's reported a problem, but we believe in full disclosure.

Another thing about Tibetan silver--besides being tarnish resistant, usually nicely detailed, and reasonably priced, it is solid, but not flexible. If you have a piece with a hanging loop, don't twist it and do use 2 pairs of pliers to open or close jump rings--trying to use the loop for leverage will break it.

Seriously, I use this stuff all the time and have been wearing a bracelet made from our hamsa chain 24/7 for months now with no problems, but get occasional complaints from people who don't read the directions and have tried to open one of these rings or use it for leverage (instead of a 2nd pair of pliers) when opening a jump ring. Don't do it! Respect and understand your materials and they'll serve you well.

Our new copper and sterling are lead free and should be nickel free (except in some cases of dark patina), and so should the colored wire earrings, ball chains, etc. My suppliers are being assured by the manufacturers that this is the case, but these materials are new to all of us. If you have a problem that suggests lead or, more likely, nickel, please let me know and we'll deal with it.

Returns and exchange details
If your item arrives broken or damaged, I will refund the price, including shipping & handling, when it is returned or when you send me a photo clearly showing the damage. You can also return the item to be repaired or replaced.

I will also give store credit for returns for any other reason as long as you let me know immediately that the item won't work for you and return it promptly--within 10 days in the US, and a negotiated time from other countries. You pay shipping both ways and of course it needs to arrive in the condition in which it left the shop.

Finding a similar item at a lower price is not a legitimate reason to ask for a refund. It may be a copy, a distress sale, or simply something of inferior quality
.
I source my products carefully, buying mostly from sellers I know and trust, occasionally from others recommended to me. If I have something, especially from Tibet, that is listed as used, vintage, old, or even antique, I'm pretty certain that that's accurate. I'm not responsible for cheap factory-made copies of handmade items, or for major craft stores' copies of vintage chain or findings.
If you are seriously unhappy about what you've paid for something from this shop, the shop credit option is available.
Payment
You can pay with paypal or a credit card.

We normally ship by first class mail with a tracking number for US addresses once a week, sometimes more often, and as soon as possible after orders are paid for and packaged, but because of our location there may be a few days' delay in getting to the P.O., especially in stormy weather. We insure orders over $50- in the US, but are unable to insure or track most international orders.

As of late August 2019 we've been forced to raise our basic first-item rate to $6.00 for US orders. We've been trying to hold the line through postal rate increases, but an increase from $2.37 to $3.00 for 1st class forced the last increase, which was 2 years ago, and 2 additi9onal increases, now to over $4.00 have forced this one. . We're hoping not to have to increase further for awhile, but the prices of address labels and bubble-lined envelopes could change that. (So far we're doing well with the envelopes, but labels are up to around $.10 each! Luckily we stocked up when prices were lower, but eventually....)

April 2016 I AM VERY SORRY TO HAVE TO RAISE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING COSTS.
I took a 1/2 oz package to the PO this week and they charged almost $10- more than I'd paid previously! I'm keeping it as low as I can by sourcing less expensive (but still sturdy) packaging, etc., but I can't control the PO!
I will try to sort out rates for different countries-- they are listed in numbered categories-- & reduce for those not at the higher end, but I just ate $9- in shipping on a tiny package & can't afford to keep doing that. If you think your country is less expensive and I haven't redone this, ask me & I'll check and change if possible.

We will still mail at least weekly, but with gas at over $3- a gallon and a 10-mile trip that too may become problematic. So far we've been able to find pretty decent prices on our bubble envelopes, labels, etc., and of course we'll keep it all as low as possible, but this IS a business--if we took a loss on S&H, we'd have to raise prices to make up for it, which we don't want to do.
Shipping
PLEASE READ BEFORE ASKING ME TO REDUCE SHIPPING AND HANDLING!!
I've been asked recently by a couple of new customers interested in buying one item whether I would lower my first item shipping costs for them. The answer is no--it wouldn't be fair to my other customers, especially those buying more and/or repeatedly, and it would be a loss to me.

Here's the deal with shipping: the first item charge covers postage, tracking, packing materials, my cost for getting the packing materials, going to the PO--gas, oil, wear & tear on my car, and time, mine or someone else's. I don't work free and won't ask anyone else to do it.
Additional items are much less because all of that except the actual cost of extra packing materials, additional postage, and a little bit of time is already covered.

I could build some of this into my prices, as many sellers do to make S&H lower, but I choose to keep my prices low and make S&H realistic and much cheaper for additional items--if I built it into the price it would cost more for each purchase rather than just the first one.

Gas is always an issue, as is time standing in line, especially for international shipments, but we're working that out by combining PO trips, when possible, with other errands, or shipping only a couple of times a week when things are slow. Mostly you won't even notice a difference, but if you need something quickly let me know and we'll do what we can to get it there on time.

As always, I'm not in charge of the PO, so once it leaves here it's out of my hands. However, US delivery times remain surprisingly good -- usually 5 days or less for first class; non-US times vary, depending on other countries' postal systems.
