Announcement   I learned to knit, crochet and make jewelry by the time I was nineteen. For many years they were separate pastimes until I started making fiber arts related clasps, closures and tewelry (jewelry that doubles as knitting/crochet tools). In the past year I learned to spin with a spinning wheel. No other craft has the calming ability like spinning!
Although I have sold my jewelry for over forty years from a shop or home studio, etsy has given me the chance to sell world wide without the tyrany of the "open" sign.

Minutes seemed like hours waiting for this beauty, but only because I was so excited to get it. The shipping was actually quite fast. I couldn't be more pleased with this sweet heirloom needle! Leslie is a true joy with a generous spirit. I highly recommend this Amazing Etsy seller!

About

How I went from poor student to good teacher.

I was not happy in a normal school setting. Long before all those learning labels came to be I just knew I felt trapped in a standard classroom. And I resented my creativity. Now I feel it is the best gift I have been given. In teaching I am careful to be a cheerleader for the more creatively timid while staying out of the way of those who take the ball and run!
After more than forty years of making and selling I have now closed my studio to the public (except by appointment) to make space to experiment and play in new directions. This time around I am able to be less self judgmental and more trusting of the process. I am both grateful and excited to have this opportunity. Etsy gives me the platform to share the results world wide.

I have crocheted and knitted since my teens and started jewelry making right after leaving my freshman year of college. Putting all my favorite things together, I now make clasps and closures for knitters, crocheters and weavers and teach workshops for those who like to make their own. I come from the perspective of keeping the workshops simple in tool requirements. The student is also free to experiment and make a shawl pin, tea stirrer, ornament, etc.
