Let's celebrate food!

We like getting our hands dirty whether it be while printing on our press or while making biscuits. Through Nourishing Notes we want folks to get excited about food, to share it with others, and laugh along the way.

Just like a good pasta dough starts with a few basic ingredients, our creative process starts with paper, pencil and usually a strong cup of coffee. Our ideas, witty sayings, and illustrations are all dreamt up in our studio, supported by years of food research - eating everything in sight.

When we're not in our studio you can find us traveling in search of regional specialties : oysters right from Tomales Bay in California, REAL BBQ in Texas and even picking wild greens with our families in Michigan (Julie) and Greece (Andy).

We're excited to share our love of food with you!

  • Julie

    Owner, Maker, Designer

Loves laughing at her own jokes and really hopes others will laugh too. Her favorite books in the kitchen are On Food and Cooking by Harold McGee and The Silver Spoon from Phaidon.

  • Andy

    Photographer, Editor, Logistics Guy

Loves laughing at Julie's jokes (the good ones). His favorite books in the kitchen are Lidia's Family Table and Vefa's Kitchen from Phaidon.

  • Sharprint

    Chicago, IL, United States

We partnered with Sharprint to help us print our kitchen towels to keep up with demand. Sharprint provides a remarkable screen printing experience. They are conscious of how they dispose of waste, how to reduce waste, and how to recycle more.

Refunds and Exchanges
As with all handmade goods by independent folks, our items may vary slightly in color from run to run (or from our computer screen to your computer screen) - no two are alike. We take care to make sure all our products are they best they can be before they head out the door (ie no smudges, bent corners, etc).

If you do happen to receive an item with a minor problem, we ask you to contact us immediately, including a photo of the item, within 30 days. In most cases, we'll send you a replacement, but we may ask you to return the item at your shipping cost.

We cannot accept refunds after 30 days from the date of purchase.

If you are truly unhappy with an item and would like to return it, we will refund you the cost of the item only, not the shipping, and you will need to pay to ship it back to us. Please let us know that you're sending a return, and we will refund your money when it arrives at our studio.

Exchanges = yes. Within 30 days of the date of purchase and you are responsible for shipping costs.
