Announcement   My great aunt Ruth and my Nana Esther were both voracious crafters. This shop has been open for a few years with beaded items from Ruth and knit items from Esther. In the past two months both have passed away. These are the last items they made. Most of the knit items were knit in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. Most of the beaded items were made in the last 10 years. They both wanted me to make sure these items went to good homes.

About

Lifelong Crafters Pass Their Knowledge With Love

I have flirted with a shop for years, but as the crafters around me age they want to give up their items to people who will appreciate them. My grandmother, now 92 years-old, would like me to sell her vintage knitted items. She has seen the knitting I do and know I will make sure her items go to good homes. My Great-Aunt Ruth would like her beads used to make lovely jewelry and sold to people who are looking for them. For this first round of selling, items were made by Ruth and myself.

  • Sara Marks

    Owner, Maker

Sara lives in Lowell Massachusetts and is thrilled to still have access to her elderly knitters including her Grandmother (Nana) and Great Aunt Ruth. They teach her new things and give up their unused items for her to make her own.

  • Ruth Page

    Maker

Some of the items were made by my Great-Aunt Ruth and given to me to add into the collection. She has been a knitter, quilter, embroiderer, and beader for longer than I have been alive.

  • Esther

    Maker, Old Lady

Esther is my 92-year-old grandmother who spent her life knitting her own clothes. Now she doesn't need them and we keep finding boxes full of outfits she made. Now I am passing them on to new homes.

Payment
At this time I only accept payment through PayPal. You have 24 hours from purchase to pay for item (if, for some reason, you did not pay right away). Failure to pay within 24 hours will result in purchase being canceled. You are welcome to re-order the item.
Shipping
All jewelry will ship in padded envelopes. Knit items will be wrapped in a plastic bag and shipped in boxes. All of the items will ship via priority mail. This comes with delivery confirmation so you will be able to track your item. I am not yet sure how I will do international orders, but we will deal with that when it happens. Any international shipper will have to pay customs fees on their own. Insurance will be placed on the item at time of shipment
Refunds and Exchanges
If there is a problem when you receive your item I will provide you with a refund. I must be notified within 7 days of your receiving the item in order for you to receive the refund. The item must also be returned to me. I will refund the cost of the item, not the shipping. The money will be refunded to you within 24 hours of my receiving the item back to me in its original condition. It must be shipped with delivery confirmation. This is for the protection of the buyer as well as the seller. Priority mail comes with this service now.

If the post office should lose the package, I will submit an insurance claim through them. You will have the tracking number to keep track of it. If you accidentally give me the wrong mailing address, via pay pal, and do not correct the error before the item is shipped, then it is your responsibility to try to contact USPS about this. If it comes back to me your money will be refunded (except shipping). I will give you the option to buy it again.
Additional policies and FAQs
The beads and jewelry items did originally come from a smoker's home. I cleansed them as best I could (I am a non-smoker with a mild allergy). I do have a pet at home. If you are concerned about allergies, please be advised. I can't take custom orders because I was simply able to work with the beads and supplies Ruth gave me.
The knit items have spent years in a cedar closet, but my grandmother smoked for most of her life. I only smell the cedar in these items. They have also been cleaned many times since she stopped smoking. If you have a very particular sensitivity to the smell of either smoke or cedar, beware.
