5 out of 5 starsGreat experience with this shop! I came looking for a wedding band and Shirlee created a custom version of one of her designs for me that would complement my engagement ring perfectly. She was professional, timely, and is clearly very skilled! I couldn’t be happier with the ring!

5 out of 5 starsThese little stacker rings are a great alternative to getting a ring resized! I have two of them now and just got my husband one for his wedding band. Shirlee is an amazing artist and made my engagement ring and our wedding bands in 2016 and they’re still just as beautiful today!

5 out of 5 starsI thought the ring would be a little bit thicker. But other than that it’s beautiful and very well made 😊

5 out of 5 starsThese are very finely made. I’d buy a set in every stone color if I could afford it. You can’t go wrong with these as a gift, not much out there in the generic jewelry stores that can match this for quality and price . I can tell they are made with great love and care.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a Fee with Returns or Exchanges?
Yes. A restocking fee is applied to most returns and exchanges, ranging from 5-30%. Most rings can be resized and don't require an exchange; message me for sizing services.
The fee is to cover some of my non-recoverable expenses like postage, packaging, and resizing. Returns of in-stock jewelry will have a nominal fee to cover the 'free shipping' expense. Bespoke rings will have a larger restocking fee due to the level of custom variations. Gold and gems are purchased specially for each project and represent a considerable investment for my small biz. I know that's not like big box stores and I appreciate your understanding and support of small business!
Can you RUSH my order?
Probably. If you need something for a specific date please let me know prior to purchase and I'll do my best to accommodate you. Rush orders may require an additional RUSH FEE (~$50-$75) and a guaranteed delivery date may not be possible for international orders.
Send me a message including the piece you're interested in, your location, and the date you need it by and I'll do my best to help.
You can also search my READY TO SHIP items for pieces that will ship out in a few days. Perfect for last-minute gift shopping! https://www.etsy.com/shop/LichenAndLychee/search?search_query=ready+to+ship
Can you resize my ring?
Almost always yes. Resizing of most rings, either, up or down half a size is complimentary other than return postage. If you need a larger size adjustment: message me and I'll help you with fitting. A $25-85 fee, plus shipping, is average for most resizing.
Some styles are difficult to resize. Rings with flush set stones and silver rings with soft stones often cannot be resized.
What items are not eligible for return?
I'm unable to offer returns or exchanges on some items due to their custom details.
Return policies are included in the individual listings but feel free to message me with questions. Many pieces can be adjusted, resized, or altered to better suit you so please get in touch if something isn't just right.
Jewelry that's not eligible for return:
-Custom orders
-Personalized or engraved jewelry
-White Diamonds over 1/2 a carat
-Rings with flush set stones that cannot be resized
-One Love heart wedding band sets
-In-stock rings that have been resized for you
How do I find my ring size?
I offer plastic ring sizers in my shop which are pretty reliable - https://www.etsy.com/listing/74165740 or this free printable download that's great in a pinch or for covert sizing of a ring you already have - https://www.shirleegrund.com/pages/ring-resizing
How do I care for my handmade jewelry?
Jewelry is inherently fragile and should be treated with care. Please do not wear your jewelry in the shower, during heavy activity, or expose it to harsh chemicals while washing your hands/dishes. Pearls and softer stones such as turquoise are delicate and should not come into contact with perfumes or hairspray. Most jewelry can be safely cleaned with an old toothbrush and mild soap.
Oxidation/discoloration can happen to most metals. For best results, please keep your jewelry in a sealed bag or box when not in use. Pro tip: The tissue paper your order is wrapped in is treated to reduce tarnishing. Add it to your jewelry box to extend the benefit. It won't fade any patinas already present but it will slow the formation of new tarnish.
Does blackened silver jewelry require special care?
Yes. The black patina on sterling silver is a natural oxide layer on the surface of the piece. With wear, the patina will change and possibly fade away. The finish can be refreshed at any time for a nominal fee.
For best results please remove your oxidized silver jewelry when washing your hands or showering. Any soap will remove the protective archival wax coating.
The black oxide layer is caused by a chemical reaction with the small amount of copper in the sterling silver alloy. Contact with additional chemicals (household cleaners, moisturizers, body oils, for example) can continue the reaction lightening or darkening the patina, usually lightening.
Is white gold rhodium plated?
No. Plating is a toxic process that I am unable to use in my studio. None of what you see in my shop is gold plated and white gold is not rhodium plated.
The standard white gold alloy contains nickel. It's a pale warm white, not the chrome color of rhodium. Palladium white gold replaces the nickel with palladium which is more precious and less reactive than white gold containing nickel. 18k palladium white gold is a beautiful rich warm gray and a bit darker than the nickel white golds.
What's your commitment to sustainability and ethical business?
Doing better by the world is a core reason for starting Lichen+Lychee Jewelry. I handcrafted each piece with recycled precious metals and ethically sourced stones in my low-impact, earth-friendly Seattle studio. I am dedicated to beautiful craftsmanship, sustainable production processes, and marriage equality.
Precious metals are recycled in-house or purchased from SCS Certified refiners that follow high standards for recycled metals and green processing.
All of the diamonds I use are conflict free under the Kimberly Accord. Brilliant-cut white diamonds are recycled.
Lab-grown stones are the most gentle option and cause no mining damage. Moissanite, lab diamonds, and Chatham colored gems are all options.
