Why reproductions of classical antiquity?

I have always been very interested in antiquity with all its fantastic stories and mythologies.
When in 1979 the first time came into contact with the illustrations made of plaster, i.e. the intaglios or cameos, it had happened to me and my passion for collecting was awakened.
Later I started to supply museum shops with my paper goods and was also able to include the first cameos in my program.

But why do I make the objects myself in my own studio?

The first impressions I bought in England were too "soupy" for me, meaning that there were already casts of casts of casts of casts and the famous sharp-edged representation on a small scale was simply no longer recognizable.

So I searched all over the world in auctions for individual original pieces and was enthusiastic about the original quality. Whether Paoletti, Liberotti, Tyrell or James Tassie, everyone had their own style.

And so I totally fell in love with the perfectest possible reproduction of these beauties. Many of my objects are used by other artists and further processed into jewelry or other furnishings.

If you also have fun and joy in my objects, it is a great pleasure for yourself and the great effort I put into producing the highest quality has paid off.

So I stand in my studio full of joy, am creative and create objects, each of which can always tell an exciting story of Greek mythology.

Schon immer hat mich die Antike mit allen ihren phantastischen Geschichten und Mythologien sehr interessiert.
Als im Jahre 1979 dann das erste Mal mit den Abbildungen aus Gips, also den Intaglios bzw. Kameen in Berührung kam, war es um mich geschehen und meine Sammelleidenschaft wurde geweckt.
Später begann ich Museumsshops mit meinen Papierwaren zu beliefern und konnte auch die ersten Kameen mit in mein Programm aufnehmen.

Doch warum fertige ich die Objekte im eigenen Atelier selber?

Die ersten, von mir in England gekauften Abdrücke waren mir zu "suppig", will heißen, es waren bereits Abgüsse von Abgüssen von Abgüssen und die berühmte scharfkantige Darstellung im Kleinen war einfach nicht mehr zu erkennen.

So suchte ich überall auf der Welt in Auktionen nach einzelnen originalen Stücken und war von der originalen Qualität begeistert. Egal ob Paoletti, Liberotti, Tyrell oder von James Tassie, jeder hatte seinen eigenen Stil.

Und so verliebte ich mich total in die möglichst perfekte Reproduktion dieser Schönheiten. Viele meiner Objekte werden von anderen Künstlern verwendet und zu Schmuck oder weiteren Einrichtungsgegenständen weiter verarbeitet.

Wenn auch Du Spaß und Freude an meinen Objekten hast, so ist das für selber eine große Freude und der große Aufwand, den ich betreibe um höchste Qualität herzustellen, hat sich ausgezahlt.

So stehe ich voller Freude in meinem Atelier, bin kreativ und erschaffe Objekte, welche jedes für sich immer eine spannende Geschichte der griechischen Mythologie erzählen kann.
