Announcement   Hi, and welcome. Relax and enjoy your tour of beautiful & historic lighthouses. My love of lighthouses comes from their individual beauty, their historic significance and their strength and courage in adverse conditions. My portraits are a way of preserving that beauty and history at a time when many people are unaware of the plight of many lighthouses. Lighthouse have majestically stood their ground in all seasons and deserve to have their memory preserved visually as well as in written word.
My paintings are a small representation of the world's lighthouses and an example of my painting. All my paintings are original acrylic paintings on either artist canvas, artist board or re-cycled roof slate. That being said, I would be honored to paint any lighthouse of your choosing, located anywhere, that you would like to have. If you have a lighthouse that is special to you, a loved one, or a friend, please contact me. Is that friend moving out of state? Why not present them with a Lighthouse Portrait that will keep you in their mind each time they see it. My paintings make wonderful Birthday, Anniversary, Christmas, and house warming gifts.
Contact me about the lighthouse you are interested in and the size of the finished painting. I will research the light and email photos to you so you can choose the layout you like and I will provide you with a quote. All my portraits are identified on the back with the name of the lighthouse and its location.

About

Memories and History for You and Yours

Painting lighthouses started out as an occassional, but very satisfying hobby. Friends that saw my work, and those who bought my paintings, thought I should think about offering my paintings to others. Thus began Lighthouse Portraits, and my occasional hobby has become my new job. I must admit that I enjoy this job much more than any other job I've had over the past 46 years. I find it very satisfying and I enjoy sharing my love of what was and still is an important part of the world's navigational and economic history.
The paintings that are offered in my shop are but a small sample of my work and of the over 15,000 lighthouses that exist world-wide. To that end, if you don't see a lighthouse that you like, or not the particular light you're looking for, contact me and I will paint it for you.
My paintings make great Birthday, Anniversary and Christmas gifts, special occasion & remembrance gifts.

As you can see, I love fishing, almost as much as lighthouses. My wife and I do as much "lighthousing" as we can. I am always taking photographs of lighthouses so I can use them as a reference when I want to do a new painting. My wife and I met while both attending Rhode Island School of Design. We married after graduating and stayed in Rhode Island to settle down and raise our family. We both have a love for lighthouses which what led me to begin my doing paintings of them.

Welcome to Lighthouse Portraits. As you take a tour of my shop, you see that my focus is the painting of lighthouses located in New England. There are in the U.S. and worldwide, great numbers of beautiful and historic lighthouses. My love of lighthouses has been the ultimate destination of many vacations and weekend trips for my wife and I, and much research. I wish to share their beauty with you, so if you don't see what you would like, contact me and we'll talk.
