Great business to work with - responsive! Our cat bed came with a paper template that we used to hang it properly — I never even realized how much I needed something like this!! It’s quite brilliant and makes mounting this bed to the wall a breeze.

I'm putting up a bunch of different shelves and beds on the walls for my three cats and, out of everything I have up, this is easily my favorite piece. The installation was very quick and easy, the bed feels very sturdy and secure on the wall, and Jayne was kind enough to send me several samples of fabrics so I could decide which pattern I liked most before I placed my order. The bed is big enough for the cats to lay down comfortably and even roll around on it with their catnip pillows, we all love it! Thanks again, Jayne!

Love! My kitties already love their boomerang bed and now I can appreciate the muted tones of this tweed slipcover to match our neutral decor. Fits perfectly and the quality is evident. I’ll be checking in on your shop in the future. Thanks so much!

I bought this as a donation item to a cat sanctuary silent auction fundraiser. People loved it.

Jayne is amazing! I’ve ordered several items from her over the years. I believe the first was 2014. For this order I wanted a new bed top but ended up ordering an acrylic base a little later. She was so great in accommodating an extra special custom item too! Always immaculate! The detail and craftsmanship are on point. I look forward to working with her again soon. Devon M.

Jayne was a pleasure to work with. She was really great with helping me pick a layout for these beds! I loved the ability to customize a palette of colors to match my furniture. My adventurous cat already loves these new shelves and even my cautious cat has given them a try! The packages included the hardware needed to hang these and also a helpful template to figure out how to place them on my wall. I love how great these shelves look and how enriching they are for my cats. I’d recommend this shop to anyone who has kitties and great taste in furniture.
In my 11 years on Etsy, I’ve sold just two cat bed designs. It’s not that I’m not a prolific designer — my house, storage shed, and brain are full of new bed design prototypes that never make it into production. For instance, wall beds that fit like moulding around a door frame, and a window seat that mimics a vintage fire escape. I blame the cats, or rather the quantity of cats in my household. My higher calling is to facilitate each cat’s potential for fabulousness. It’s Montessori for cats in this joint.
This is where I would show off my aesthetically inspiring workspace if I had one. All my pet beds are made in my 1944 house and backyard, with windows open almost year-round and classic movies and music playing 24/7. The house is currently in mid-renovation, inside and out, with myself as the general contractor.
Making kitty beds is fun. I love working outside with power tools while cats sit close by with their ears turned away from the noise. I love spreading out fabric and the cat who immediately spreads herself on it. I love cutting paper patterns while trying not to snip a fur tail. I love hanging prewashed fabric on the line to dry while cats underfoot seek the shade it casts.
And now a word about the cumbersome name of my business. “Like Kittysville” was intended to become this whole beatnik mid-century theme. I’d love to find an illustrator to design a website with a late-‘50s pulp paperback flair. My budget for that, however, is like nullsville.
I have big plans for a future Instagram account filled with cleverly fake Photoshopped images of my wall beds, with cats on board, hanging in public spaces like graffiti-strewn abandoned warehouses or ancient cathedrals. When that happens my Instagram link will be right on this page.
