About WanderlustCrochetPDX

Sales 71
On Etsy since 2011

It all started with a hook, and a grandma tired of chasing a little girl...

When I was 5, or maybe 6, my grandma was tired of chasing me around the neighborhood. So she sat me down, and taught me to chain crochet. I sat in the sunshine on her back porch in Salem, Oregon many days that summer, learning new stitches, then frogging my sample, and practicing some more. Soon, I started making "food eggs" for the cats in the neighborhood, and filling them with kitty food, and watching the cats bat them around to knock the food out. I started crocheting around toilet paper tubes to make cat toys, and the neighbor boy asked for a scarf for his mom. Soon enough I was making things for everyone.

I haven't put down the hook for more than a few days in the last 21 years.

When I was pregnant with my oldest (now 5 years) a friend came to me and asked how much I'd charge to make a hat for her 6 month old for a photoshoot. She sent me a photo of an owl hat off of Pinterest, and nothing has been the same.

Owls Nest Boutique was born.

Now I have this shop online, I sell on Facebook, and in several local shops around my hometown. I enjoy crochet because it allows me to supplement my families income and be home with my boys. It also makes flexibility possible, as I've dealt with chronic migraines and nerve pain for 13 years. Holding a "regular" job is difficult.

My customers make that possible.

In 2018, the shop was rebranded to reflect a change in location and focus. While I still strive to provide the best crochet goods I can, I've expanded to include decor as well as wearables and toys.

Welcome to Wanderlust Crochet (formerly Lily Lane Eclectic and Owlsnest Boutique.

UPDATE: Nov 2017: After several requests, I've begun to add my Etsy Listing writing service bundles to my Etsy Shop! You'll still find some of the best crochet items on the market, but now you can reep the benefits of my Marketing degree and my passion for writing.

Shop members

  • Echo

    Owner

As a busy mom of two, I've learned to balance work and life and the perpetual cycles of creativity and downtime. I crochet as a form of stress relief, and I write as a form of creative expression. My creations tent to have a somewhat bohemian feel.

  • Lola

    Shop Pup

Lola is my service dog. Part of the reason I work this business is that I get chronic migraines, to the point of causing blackouts. She is a rescue pup that helps me cope with the bad days and brings me joy on the good days.

  • Tessa

    Photographer, Maker

Tessa is a young woman keen to make her mark on the world. She had been crocheting for about 10 years, on and off, and is wicked good with a camera. Some products are made by her, but all the photos are shot by her (well, most of them).

  • Kirstin

    Maker

Kirstin is a young woman looking for creative outlet. She and Echo are great friends, and together, with Tessa, they keep the shop stocked with fun and cozy goodies for your needs.
