My bio:

~Art is a very important part of my life and helps to define who I am as a person. I love to paint, especially with bright and bold colors, and, I apply that love into each and every painting I create. My art reflects my passion for life.~

I am a retired high school special services teacher. I hold a B.S. in Special Education, a M.Ed. in Learning Disabilities and an Ed.S. in Media and Instructional Technology. I am a self taught artist and work in acrylics, pastels, gouache, watercolors, mixed media, photography, and pencil drawings, painting contemporary modern abstracts, landscapes and still lifes. I especially enjoy mixed media with relief and a thick texture that gives dimension to a piece. My styles of painting are contemporary abstract expressionistic paintings because “abstract aesthetically allows the mind to go beyond the norm”, contemporary tree paintings because “trees give to us so much in life, and contemporary flower paintings because “there are so many millions of beautiful shapes and colors in the world”. My art reflects my passion for life with a vibrant use of color.

I am a member of EBSQ, South Cobb Arts Alliance and Douglas County Art Guild and Art Council. I have shown my art in the Douglasville, Mableton, Marietta, Carrollton, Georgia, Memphis, Tennessee and New York City areas and was commissioned by the Emory Winship Cancer Center in Atlanta, Georgia for a painting. I recently completed a book cover for the author of the book Garotte and was recently awarded the “People’s Choice Award” at the SCAA World of Imagination Juried Art Show. I am also co-artist of the mural painting, “Story Corner”, Children’s Library, Lithia Springs Library, Lithia Springs, Georgia.

My art is collected nationally and internationally by galleries, corporations, small businesses and private individuals.

Painting is my passion, my life & I thank you very much for the opportunity to create it everyday!
