Welcome to Linda's Other Life - Sew many ways to spend my days!

I learned to sew as a little girl from my mother and grandmother who taught me to make my own clothes and fashion handmade gifts for others. When I was young, I helped my grandmother cut and embroider flannel receiving blankets to donate to the local hospital and learned early the simple pleasure of doing what you love and sharing it with others.

My shop name results from teaching Henry David Thoreau's Walden for all those years and reading aloud to students his words “I left the woods for as good a reason as I went there. Perhaps it seemed to me that I had several more lives to live, and could not spare any more time for that one.” Since my initials are legitimately LOL, Linda's Other Life was an obvious choice. My other life will be filled with opportunities to deliver clever, functional, cute and crafty handmade items to buyers everywhere.

Welcome to Linda's Other Life. My previous life, as a high school English teacher, had my creativity held hostage by piles of essays to grade and deadlines to meet. Now I have piles of fabric and the pleasure of crafting items that please me and my customers. All products are crafted by me in our smoke-free home. I am looking forward to providing quality sewn merchandise to satisfied customers.
