Announcement   About my pottery: All my stoneware pottery is handmade, hand-painted, and hand-carved. Each colorful and whimsical pottery design is entirely unique, original, and one-of-a-kind! All my work is also made with lead-free, food safe glazes and is completely microwave and dishwasher safe.

About me: I have been happily throwing and decorating pots since 2006 when I discovered ceramics in college and changed my major without a second thought. After graduating with (oh the horror!) a Fine Arts degree from Marshall University, I started my own business and began selling pottery. My work is now available at a few fairs and festivals across West Virginia and, most conveniently, right here on Etsy!

About

Plum Crazy Pottery

Honestly, the story of Plum Crazy Pottery's birth is not romantic, funny, or quirky. Things that happened afterward...

I started the business right out of college (Marshall University graduating class of 2007). Well, almost right out of college. You see, first I tried to jury into Tamarack. In case you don't ever, ever travel the WV Turnpike (if you don't, count yourself lucky), Tamarack is a wonderful organization in a beautiful building that sells and promotes the work of WV artists. It is not easy to jury in. But, (miracle or miracles!) my work was accepted right off. Yay! After bouncing up and down for about an hour and calling everyone on my family tree to announce the BIG news, I saw that I would be required to have a business license. "Business license," I thought, "What?" But after some internet surfing and about two minutes of soul searching contemplation, I decided to go for it. One phone call, a visit to my friendly accountant's office, and a few checks later...Plum Crazy Pottery was officially up and running!

I have now been in business four years, and I am still enjoying every minute. For all the dish on the romantic, funny, and quirky things going on in my life, visit my blog at www.lindsayphilabaun.blogspot.com/

Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator, Shipper, Teacher

I have lived in West Virginia most of my life, and I love it here. I live in a super cute yellow house circa 1950 that my husband and I are slowly updating. My pottery studio lives in the garage. We also live with our small son and Dalmatian.

My husband can occasionally be coerced into designing all my marketing materials, helping with fairs, and packing up shipments. If you have seen my business cards, websites, or Etsy banner--he's the guy behind all that!
