About

My winter trees.

I have studied art in high school and college. And I have been creating art for many years in different mediums...
pen, ink, pencil, colored pencils, markers, collaging, paints: oil & acrylic some pastels, rubber stamps, crocheting, beading, metal work ... but I do love pen and markers!

Acrylics were pretty fun too... someday I would like to dabble in those again and ceramics! LoVe LoVe LoVe Ceramics!

But as life changes so do our interests and mine have brought me back to pen/ink.

I love the simple joy of it! I can sit down grab my pen and my favorite atlas ... turn on Swamp People and see what is going on, on the bayou. It is very relaxing.

People often ask me, "Why trees with no leaves? Why map pages?" Well, it started out one winter night when I was driving home down Eight Mile road and they have the prettiest California Oak trees in that area. The sun was setting and it created the most amazing picture ever with the sun changing colors behind the gnarled silouettes of the California Oaks. It made the trees look so black and the sky so vibrant. I just had to create that picture again.

It took a long time trying to find just the right back ground, but I found the colors & lines I was looking for in an old atlas. And here we are today!

I hope you love them just as much as I do and maybe next time when your driving at sundown... take an extra minute to look around you and see the world in a different light.

I have been creating art since I was a little girl. I love the lines in everyday items... houses, trees. I love the feel & smell of the paper and pens! Remember those fruity smelly markers!? Art makes me haPpY! I want to pass on that haPpiNesS!
