5 out of 5 starsA beautiful piece of art! The delivery was really fast (despite Brexit 😉) and Nick was very responsive and kind. I'd definitely buy here again.

5 out of 5 starsI was in love with this picture but it showed out of stock, so I messaged Nick asking if he had any squirrelled away. He didn’t, but without being asked, went ahead and did a new one specially for me! What a hero. I’ve just framed it and it looks absolutely cracking. Thank you, Nick :)

5 out of 5 starsI ordered a copy after hearing about Nick Morley's book on a linocut Facebook page. Well written and easy to understand. If you can only choose one book on creating linoleum cutting and printing your work, I would highly recommend this book.

5 out of 5 starsThis was one of those nice situations where our expectations were exceeded when it arrived! Nick is an exceptionally talented artist and we are delighted to have this in our home. Covid-19 caused a few delays in the ordering process but Nick was very good at keeping us informed at every stage and answering questions that we had. Would happily order from this vender again.

How I came to be the biggest linocut geek in the world
Just over a hundred years ago, a man picked up a piece of linoleum from his floor and decided to carve chunks out of it. Linocut was born. Over the next hundred years artists as big and famous as Matisse and Picasso fell in love with linocut, some Mexicans used it to make political posters and Edward Bawden designed linocut advertisements for the London Underground.
Most people I've met have sweet memories of carving their fingers up at school while attempting to make something vaguely artistic with lino. Unfortunately this puts many people off linocut in adulthood but there is an underground resurgence happening that is about to get as big as, well, knitting or something.
Having spent ten years in the artistic hotbed of East London, in 2011 I moved to the English seaside town of Margate to set up my own studio. In between walking on the beach and eating ice cream I make linocuts of Dodos with yoyos, dinosaurs with handbags and all kinds of other slightly abnormal things. I still use 'real' linoleum - made from linseed oil, cork and resin - and I print using a lovely second-hand etching press.
As well as selling my prints on Etsy I sell in galleries in the UK and take part in exhibitions all over the place. I also design book covers and teach linocut workshops to anyone who wants to have a go. It's such a democratic medium - it's cheap and easy to learn and you can do it in your own front room.
All you need is a good set of tools, some lino, ink and a roller. Luckily that's exactly what you get in my Linocut Starter Set! I came up with this kit through researching the best and most affordable tools and materials for my blog. The other linocut kits just didn't meet my exacting standards so I decided to make my own. I sell two or three a week and have had great feedback from my customers. Hopefully it will inspire some future Picassos...
I've written a blog about linocut for a few years now. I like to feature other artists and designers as well as stuff about my latest projects and useful tutorials. I also curate the odd exhibition and organise events where we use a steamroller to print giant linocuts. All my hard work paid off recently when I was asked to write a book about linocut. Well, what else would it be about?!

When I'm not making linocuts I'm blogging about linocuts, teaching other people how to make linocuts, and collecting linocuts. I've just been commissioned to write a book about linocuts. You could say linocuts are a passion of mine.

Please note that due to their hand-made nature, there may be very minor variations from print to print. Please also note that the colours you see on your screen may not look exactly the same as the actual print. This is because every computer/phone/ipad screen is configured differently. Hopefully you will think the prints look even more beautiful in real life!
