Proudly handmade in Canada since 2004

In November of 2004, Lipgloss & Black started selling handmade goods online, mostly handbags & reconstructed t-shirts. We were amazed by the feedback of people around the world & enjoyed every moment of it. We have met so many amazing people around the world & have made lifelong friends through our online presence.

In 2010, we started our own blog: www.sylandsam.com. It's a space where we can share our inspiration & personal style. We discuss important issues such as what we wore, how to make things yourself, how to paint your pretty nails & of course...what we like to eat.

Custom and personalized orders

Please contact us if you're interested in having a custom made item.

Do you charge taxes & duties?

We ship your package without charging taxes or duties. You may be charged a fee upon receiving your package which we cannot calculate or determine for you. For more information regarding your country's custom policies please contact your local customs office. All taxes, duties & customs fees are the responsibility of the recipient of the package. We will not mark any order as a gift &/or lower the actual value. This request is illegal & fraudulent. All our shipments will be marked with the actual value of goods & as a "sale of goods." We will not alter any information by request.

Care instructions

Most of our items are best when hand washed and hang dried. If you have concerns about specific items, please contact us.

Wholesale availability

Contact us with your items of interest with quantities, sizes, & (if applicable) colours. Some of our products are discontinued or simply one of a kind & we may not be able to do wholesale on all our products but will do our best!

Do you accept Returns or Exchanges?

If your order is just not what you expected please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. We can only refund the amount you paid for your order not including the shipping & handling charges. You will be held responsible for covering the return shipping fees for the return or exchange. Refunds/exchanges will not be processed until the return package is received by us in original/unworn/unwashed condition, with tags (if applicable.) On the rare occasion that an incorrect item is shipped to you; we will accept all responsibility & correct the error. We do not accept returns on custom orders, this includes any item that was altered upon your request.

I have an issue with my order, what can be done about it?

If you are unhappy, please avoid leaving feedback that is less than 5 stars prior to contacting us. We are prepared to work out any situation to make your shopping experience a positive one.

I live in the Greater Toronto Area! Can I pick up an order?

Sorry but we do not offer a local pick-up, no exceptions.

What shipping service do you use? Can I rush a shipment?

Canada, USA & International customers will receive their orders through Canada Post's Small/Light Packet Air (in some cases surface). This service does not include tracking numbers (if you are interested in express shipments with tracking information; please review our shipping upgrade options.)

I need my order by a specific date, can you ensure I receive my order prior to the date?

We can ship your order via an express service but there is absolutely no guarantee that you will receive your order by a specific date. Guaranteed services can still be delayed by customs, weather, natural disasters, etc. We strongly suggest that time sensitive orders are placed early in conjunction with express shipping services to avoid potential delays. Please contact us for quotes on pricing & delivery time.

My order was damaged in transit, what do I do? Where is my order?

All orders will be insured & if you received a damaged item that has been caused in the shipping process; it can be reported directly to us. If you have not received your order within the estimated shipping date of arrival please contact us (prior to leaving feedback) & we will be more than happy to work with you to resolve any issues.
