My original Luna moth designs
Doing Work I Love
My interest in metalwork began in 2006 when I experimented with etching my handwritten calligraphy into metal. While I've always enjoyed working with my hands, metalsmithing captivated me like nothing before. Combining words and metal felt like a very natural progression from lettering on paper.
I've been working full-time as a metalsmith and jewelry artist since June of 2009. In addition to my online shop and an occasional art fair, my jewelry can also be found in galleries and boutiques from coast to coast and has been purchased and collected by people in all 50 states and in over 30 countries.
Each piece of jewelry I create is inspired by images, words or themes that are meaningful to me in some way. I feel so honored and appreciative when customers write to tell me what a piece means to them or how, in some small way, it helped them through a difficult time.
Every day I wake up excited to go to work in my studio, accompanied by my four legged studio companions who make sure I take breaks now and then. We often walk on wooded trails where small wonders of nature captivate me and inspire my work back in the studio. I feel incredibly grateful that I'm able to do this work I love.
