My Imagination+Making Art
Growing up running around the hills of my hometown, learning about nature up close, has informed the work I make as an artist today.
I have a loft studio at my house where I make botanical themed paintings in my favorite medium; watercolor+ink. My paintings include plants and flowers, birds and insects. Lately I’ve been adding objects such as puzzle pieces or marbles, those things that sometimes go missing.
Each painting begins with an inspiration that I work out in sketches using my imagination. Then I carefully draw the design onto my prepared board and begin to paint. Details are added in ink and a smooth acrylic background color is painted in.
My fine art prints and cards are professionally made for me from my original artwork by local shops who I’ve chosen for their excellent work reproducing my work for me.
