5 out of 5 starsKnew this would be beautiful, and my partner has just randomly picked it up and declared how fantastic it is.
Giving this as a birthday card will be like a gift too, and no doubt framed as the recipient loves Liselle's work 🖤 -

5 out of 5 starsThe test of who is most important to you: who gets one of these cards and not a leftover from last year 😂
Definitely keeping a penguin just because s/he's so adorable 🖤 painting well is one thing, but capturing cuteness, attitude, character is a whole other level of skill! -

5 out of 5 starsWasn't sure what to expect with this being quite small. But the print is perfectly crisp and I just love this painting 🖤 arrived super quickly and beautifully packaged, as always. Thank you 🖤

About LiselleFaeArt
I am a wildlife artist, zoologist, and cat lover who produces vibrant, contemporary watercolour portraits of animals. Taking inspiration from my experience working in animal welfare and conservation, I strivee to create paintings that capture the enigmatic spirit of wildlife. Not only this, but I hope to inject others with the awe and enthusiasm I have for animals, and raise awareness of species which are endangered or misunderstood.
I am a self-taught artist, having never pursued a formal education in art; despite this, arts & crafts have always been an integral part of my life. In 2012, I moved to the University of Exeter's Penryn campus to study animal behaviour. Here I avidly chased my passion for cats, interning at the Big Cat Sanctuary, volunteering with Cats Protection, writing an article on cheetah physiology for biosphere magazine, and finally completing a dissertation studying captive-wild cat behaviour. While studying in cornwall, I rediscovered my love of art - using it as a tool to help me relax away from a busy academic schedule.
After graduating from the University of Exeter I continued to indulge my passion for art, rediscovering watercolours and, subsequently, my intense colour vision along the way. My palette and brushes then accompanied me to Manchester, where I studied a PGDip in Zoo Conservation Biology, specialising in cat anatomy and behaviour while also volunteering at Manchester Museum and as a tiger vocalisation analyser for The Prusten Project. It was during this period, I decided to take my first commissions in time for christmas 2016 - I haven't looked back.
After moving back to Lincolnshire, I continued to paint, developing my skills and style as I took on an increasing amount of pet portrait commissions. My original pieces, depicting wildlife, became a vessel to explore my ongoing passion for the natural world and support it's conservation. In 2018, I developed my own beginners watercolour course, focusing on basic techniques and building confidence; in the same year I also became a member of the Association of Animal Artists. In March 2019, in conjunction with Ayscoughfee Museum, I held my first exhibition "Fading Beauty: supporting wildlife conservation through art which celebrates the spirit of nature". I have since become the chairperson for the Association of Animal Artists and frequently open the conversation surrounding creative processes and low-confidence among my fellow artists. I remain a staunch advocate for wildlife conservation, with a focus on wild cats. I’d love to become an artist in residence for conservation charities, and remain committed to painting as many different cat species as I can in the coming year to help raise awareness of their stories.
