Welcome to littlebird design! I am an Ohio-based graphic designer and technical writer who also creates custom hand-made jewelry and other lovely little items. My personal challenge is to create unique designs for everything that I make. That's why there is only ever one available for sale.

ETSY DIRECT CHECKOUT
If you pay via Etsy Direct Checkout, there can be a 5-8 day delay between Etsy notifying me of the funds transfer, and my bank receiving the funds. In those cases, I will contact you to let you know that your shipment may be delayed until payment is received. If timing is critical, please contact me to discuss.

Upon your request, I can cancel an order prior to it being shipped, and issue a full refund. You must send me a message via Etsy, or email me at littlebird_hj [!at] yahoo.com within 24 HOURS of checkout.

I'm often able to ship items within 24 hours of your purchase, so the sooner the better for contacting me if you want to cancel an order!
Shipping
SHIPPING LOCATIONS
Items in this shop with identified shipping costs, or items marked as FREE shipping, are calculated to ship to the continental United States of America, or U.S. military base/diplomatic locations. Any items shipping outside of these areas may require additional shipping costs. I will contact you if additional shipping charges apply.

SHIPPING TIMING VS. FUND TRANSFER TIMING
I often am able to ship items earlier than estimated on the item's page. However, shipping does not occur until Etsy delivers your payment funds to my bank account. Etsy Direct Checkout may cause a slight delay in shipping, because this payment method can add a few business days to the funds transfer. I will contact you if that is the case.

SHIPPING METHOD
Items will be shipped via the U.S. Postal Service using the most appropriate method. Items will be packed in a manner that should protect them during transit.

I typically ship with a tracking number. However, because I would like to keep the purchase price of items in my Supplies section low, I choose the most economical shipping method (which often does not include tracking).

If you would like to add insurance, or upgrade to a faster shipping method, please contact me at littlebird_hj [!at] yahoo.com to discuss. These will require a shipping price adjustment to accommodate the additional cost.

MISSING/DAMAGED ITEMS
If items are damaged in transit, see the Refund Policy under "DAMAGED GOODS or MISSING SHIPMENTS".
Refunds and Exchanges

DAMAGED GOODS or MISSING SHIPMENTS

Only goods damaged during transit from me to you will be considered for a refund.

Items that are damaged while wearing or using them are not eligible for return or refund. Also, Supply orders cannot be returned if the original manufacturer's packaging has been opened or damaged.

- Send me at least one photo that includes the item and its packaging as soon as you notice the damage (prior to wearing or using the item).
- If you choose a complementary repair INSTEAD OF a refund, I will need to determine if I am able to perform the repair. Frequently, my supplies are limited edition or unique vintage items, and I may not have extras available. If I am unable to make the repair, I will issue a refund.
- I may ask you to return the broken item to me prior to issuing a refund or initiating the repair. I will provide shipping recommendations.

If your shipment is missing (i.e. It did not deliver to your shipping address when it was supposed to), contact me as soon as you notice. This will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine the shipping/delivery issue. Loss during transit may be the responsibility of the shipping service, and will need to be dealt with accordingly.


RETURN and REFUND

I will consider the return of any ORIGINAL CONDITION product within 60 days of purchase. Please contact me via an Etsy conversation, or littlebird_hj [!at] yahoo.com to discuss.

IMPORTANT!!! To help prevent fraud, this category of return and refund will be at my discretion. I will do my best to be fair, but please know that I may decline some requests if I determine that the product is not in sufficiently good condition.

Here are some criteria that I take into consideration:
- Product must be returned in sellable condition as a NEW item. The item cannot be worn a few times and then returned. If it is a supply in original manufacturer's packaging, it must be completely intact and in good condition.
- You must submit a current photo of the product to me along with a request for return and refund. I will review and contact you regarding whether or not permission to return is granted (with explanation).
- When shipping back to me, the product must be sufficiently protected so that it can be returned to inventory after I process your refund. Contact me for shipping recommendations.*
- The returned product must be received by me before I can provide a refund.*
- Refunds will be initiated within 3-5 business days, once returned product is received by me.*

* Please be aware that if you return a product that I deem to be too worn out to place back in my inventory as-is, I will only issue a partial refund. If it is a beaded piece, I would have to take the item apart and rebuild it with new parts in order for it to be sellable again. If this is the case, I will notify you once I receive the item and examine its condition.

EXCLUSIONS
- Products are NOT eligible for returns or refunds after 60 calendar days from the date of purchase.
- Products are not eligible for returns or refunds if damaged during use / wearing.
- The seller is not responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the products, or such that is incurred through use of the products after receipt of the parcel. Damage can include breakage from rough use, snags on clothing, oxidation of metals due to exposed storage, drips of essential oils, etc. It is the buyer's responsibility to take care of their purchase.

CUSTOM ORDERS
Custom orders are available. Please contact me, and we'll get the discussion started. Custom orders take 2-3 weeks to develop because I will need to talk with you, show you some drafts, and get your final OK before sending it out.

MATERIAL NOTES
Most metals are alloys unless otherwise noted in the product description. I am able to replace most clasps and ear wires with nickel-free alloy, gold, silver, or platinum plated equivalents. Due to the price difference, there is a small up-charge, which we can discuss.

JEWELRY CARE
With proper care, even faux finishes can stay bright and beautiful for a long time. Here are some tips for care:
- Put on your jewelry after you have used grooming products like hair spray, makeup, and lotions. Allow the products to dry or absorb first. Some of these products can affect wood, plastic, and metal surfaces.
- Remove jewelry before exercise, as sweat can cause damage to jewelry surfaces and structure (the string, clasp, etc.).
- Handle the jewelry with clean hands.
- Store your jewelry in a low air-flow area, like a closed shallow drawer or closed jewelry box. Storing items in a closed plastic zipper bag also minimizes oxidation.
- If you notice oxidation, use a clean, dry, soft cloth (like flannel) to gently wipe the surface. Do not use force or abrasive cloths, because that can damage the item. Depending on the extent of oxidation, you may or may not be able to remove it all.
- Never soak jewelry in liquid cleaners. Costume jewelry uses wood, plastics, wool, different kinds of thread or wire, leather, adhesives, paints, and plated finishes that can be damaged by water, soap, and solvents.
