The Evolution of a Tile Coaster...
My daughter Dawn began selling on Etsy in 2006. Her shop had a variety of items but the ceramic tile coasters were a hit so she opened up a separate shop - Little Tile Gnome (http://littletilegnome.etsy.com) - to sell just these, making her the first seller of ceramic tile coasters on Etsy! I helped her along the way - I've always been creative and have been participating in craft fairs for over 30 years so it was natural for us to work together.
A while back she moved overseas so I've taken on sole responsibility for a new shop, Little Coaster Gnome. I love patterns and color and I'm always on the lookout for new and exciting patterns to meet my customer's desires.
My profits tend to pay for trips to see my daughter, or for her to see me. It's a great hobby that I love and Etsy has been an amazing place to be for the past 10 years!

I try to keep my shop stocked but if you see something in my sold items that is no longer listed, please let me know - I may be able to remake it!

A bit more about my coasters -
- They are made of ceramic tiles like the ones you would use in your kitchen or bathroom - so the backs will be unfinished, and the edges are not sanded down. They have a handmade, raw look to them - that's the point, I don't want to produce something that looks like it came from a factory!
- The exact pattern may change from coaster to coaster - it's all based on the cut of the paper I use, but won't change drastically and I try to make sure the best parts are always included.
- The backs have four pieces of cork on the corners to protect your surfaces - the entire bottom is not covered. It's the tops that are meant to be pretty, I don't think you'd have much reason to turn them over and put them on show :)
- They're heavy - hence the high shipping prices. That's what I get for choosing a hobby that involves ceramic. Next time I plan to find something lighter in weight...

Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
- Money Order
With packaging each set weighs a little shy of two pounds, and shipping gets expensive - apologies for that! All prices below are in US Dollars.
US: All coasters are shipped via Priority mail. Single sets ship for $7.50. If you order between 2 and 6 sets, you will pay a flat rate of $11.00 (US only!). All shipments should arrive in approximately 3 - 5 business days.
Canada: Single sets ship via USPS First Class International for $15. Each additional set ships for $11 . Order 3 - 6 sets and your order will ship for a flat rate of $36 and will ship via USPS Priority International.
I am more than happy to ship internationally but the prices are ridiculous and I wouldn't expect anyone to actually pay them! However if you're willing to splash out a few times the price of the coasters to cover the shipping, just let me know :)
If you're buying more than 3 sets, I will refund the difference from the shipping costs - unfortunately there is no way on Etsy to set the cost beyond the second set. Sorry for this inconvenience!
Insurance is NOT included in the cost of shipping - however, if you'd like insurance on your package (will protect against lost or damaged coasters) please add $1.75 to your total! (US only)
MADE TO ORDER ITEMS: These items (there aren't many!) may take up to ten days to ship. If an item is made to order it will be noted in the title.
Refunds and Exchanges
These coasters are made from tiles so they ARE breakable! I've only had two sets break in transit but play it safe and add $1.75 to your order and you will get insurance against damage or loss (US only). I can not be responsible if you opt out of insurance.
Additional policies and FAQs
Also let me know if you're looking for a particular style - I'll let you know if I have what you're looking for!
Little Coaster Gnome reserves the right to cancel any sale it deems suspicious or inappropriate. Full refunds will be issued. I've never had to do this but it needs to be in here just in case!
