When Covid-19 hit us all in March 2020, I quickly realized that face masks were going to be an impotant part of our lives for a while. I joined a local group called Seacoast Mask Makers, which was formed to gather local home sewers for creating and distributing masks to various places in desperate need, such as nursing homes, doctor's offices, and front line workers. I hadn't looked at my fabric stash or sewn in a long time (about 6 years), but quickly re-kindled my love for colorful fabrics, and this helped me to make it through some challenging days.
In time, the Seacoast Mask Makers had fulfilled their requests and decided to shut down, with a total donation count of 57,016 donated masks. My personal donation count is nearly 600, between the group and donations to others in need. While I will continue to donate masks, I decided to brush the dust off my Etsy Shop and get back to business.
I live near the beautiful coast of New Hampshire with my husband, my three children, my dog and my two cats. Each mask is washed, ironed, and sewn with care by me. I hope my colorful scraps make you happy as they do for me!
