Announcement   Little e Pottery features a wide variety of handmade stoneware pottery items for the home along with eye catching casual jewelry made from the same clay and glazes. I craft every item by hand in my studio in Austin, TX.

The "Little e" stands for Emily. A small lower case "e" is my potter's mark.

Every piece of pottery is made 100% BY HAND- on the wheel, using hand building techniques such as slab building or extruding, or a combination. I do not use any methods of commercial mass production in any of my work, which means each piece is completely unique!

My pieces are stoneware pottery fired to 2232 degrees Fahrenheit. All Functional pieces are dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. I make all of my own glazes and they are all lead free and food safe.

In stock items ship out in 1-3 business days. Pottery will be in transit an additional 1-3 business days. Jewelry will be in transit 1-6 business days depending on shipping speed selected at check out.

Items that are not yet made will be clearly labeled as MADE TO ORDER, and will ship in the time stated in the individual listing.

**SHIPPING COST** Note that if my shipping cost comes out to less than what you pay at check out I will send a refund to reflect the overage. Orders within Texas and large orders to other destinations will often receive a partial refund. If you are planning a large order and need a shipping quote ahead of time feel free to send me a message with desired items and shipping zip code.

Any other questions are also welcome
Thanks!
Emily

Updates

Silicone lids now available to purchase with newly ordered travel mugs :)
(Please note lids will not fit most older mugs- I have changed rim diameter to fit lids)
A new dinnerware set in Bayou glaze, plus a cross section of a broken plate which illustrates the functionality of my dinnerware. Thick enough for durability, thin enough for lighter weight- with thicker rounded rims for maximum resistance to chipping.
Need a stylish solution for kitchen veggie scraps? My hand thrown compost jars feature a wide opening, ventilated filter holding lid, and comfy handles. Appropriately sized for compostable kitchen scrap bags, and available in a wide variety of colors :)

About

Little e Pottery

When I met clay, it immediately took hold of me on a visceral level. The experience of working in a medium that gave me the ability to take something from inside my head, create it from earth, and then virtually set it into stone was simply intoxicating.

I quickly gravitated toward functional ware. Although I truly do love and appreciate art that exists solely for the sake of being art, what inspires me even more is the idea of transfusing art into the mundane. I believe that using functional art imparts beauty and meaning to something that could otherwise be a forgotten moment in life. It brings you to the present to appreciate the simple, and in my view, most important parts of life and happiness. If you bring Little e Pottery into your life, I hope you will use my work rather than simply displaying it, and please don't save it for a "special occasion". Every day life is the most special thing we have, and it should be appreciated and beautified whenever possible.

I feel deeply connected to the work that I do, and made the decision early on to be the hands and mind behind the entire creation process of each and every piece of Little e Pottery. I do not employ apprentices or studio assistants, and I do not use any means of mechanical mass production. I feel that this imparts the greatest possible consistency, quality, and meaning to each of my pieces. My greatest goal with my work is to make every piece be worthy of becoming a valuable addition to someone's life.

I was born with a desire to create. When I found clay I fell head over heels. Pottery combines art and function and connects the maker of a piece to the user in a way that I find profoundly meaningful.

Nate's a close friend who's made the leap into owning his own creative business with Beck & Hall Photography. While he builds his brand he's working behind the scenes here as my assistant extraordinaire!

    Head Of Security

Ruby keeps an eye on the neighborhood through the kitty door next to my potter's wheel. No Shenanigans are gonna go down on her watch!

    Materials Manager

I think he's just using them as a pillow, but Biggie swears the reason he lays in my clay scraps is because he's keeping track of my waste and recycling systems.

  • Major

    Shipment Supervisor

Major oversees outgoing shipments by dutifully barking orders at the postal carrier as they collect each day's packages.

Chuy is my smallest and most hilarious assistant. His corkscrew tail and innate ability to make cute poses always bring a smile.
