07/25/20 Update: USPS shipping is slowing down. The USPS is experiencing an increased mail volume, and dealing with staffing shortages. I've been keeping an eye on my outgoing packaging, and have noticed mail is taking about 2 extra days to get delivered. All of my packages are sent with tracking, and I haven't had any get lost yet. Rest assured, I keep an eye on all packages.

Are you Holiday Shopping? The USPS has announced that the last day to ship a package and ensure that it gets there by Christmas is Dec 17th 2020. This means that you'll want to place your order by Dec 10th in order to ensure Christmas Shipping. If you are concerned about timing, please email me before placing your order.

All Bath and Body products are as natural as possible and all ingredients are listed for transparency. Little Farmyard is cruelty free (Leaping Bunny Certified). And as topping on the cake, a portion of sales are donated to a local cause.

Each product features a locally sourced ingredient, whether it be herbs or flowers from my garden, goat milk from 5 miles down the road, eggs from my backyard flock, or local honey.

Goat milk: The goat milk in my soaps comes from a small herd that is down the road from my house. The owner is up every day at 3AM to hand milk the herd. The goats have ample room to graze and roam. All feed is organic and the milk is tested to State standards. They are protected by a guardian Llama. These goats are bred every 3 years (compared to the industry standard of every year), to give their bodies ample time to recover. And most important, all babies are naturally weened by the mother goat. All babies have access to their mothers and nurse on demand. The owner milks the goats after the babies have fed to collect any excess milk. Once the mother has naturally weened her kids, the mother goat is milked for another year and that milk is what is sold.

Honey & Beeswax: I buy these products from a local bee keeper who has been in the business since the 70's. He keeps his bees local to reduce stress on the Hive.

10% of all Sales goes back to the local community! So far over $2,200 has been donated to these amazing charities thanks to your support!
-An Hour with Friends: On a weekly basis, a small group of caring people collect over 90+ lbs of produce donated by local farmers. Each Sunday the group gets together to cook one large meal that feeds over 75 people a hot meal.
-St. Paul Newman Center: A local Catholic Church located near Fresno State. They serve the students of Fresno State as well as the surrounding community.
-Marjaree Mason Center: A local domestic victims shelter. Not only do they provide a safe haven, but they also provide counseling, education and help these people get back on the feet and break the cycle.
-Double S Ranch: California has been subject to a lot of wild fires this year. Double S Ranch and a few other local ranches teamed up to drive where ever needed to help evacuate horses and other livestock from the fires. With a network of ranchers, they have been assisting with multiple fires this year, housing livestock, feeding and caring for them, and bringing them back home when it is safe.

My Story

My shop is lovingly called Little Farmyard, because my garden has inspired me to do so many things the old fashion way. My Little Farmyard includes a garden where I grow heirloom veggies and fruit and save the seeds for next season's garden. I have 6 adorable chickens who not only provide fresh eggs, but they help compost garden trimmings, and are on "bug duty" in the garden. My dream is to have a mini CSA where I provide veggies, fruit, eggs, bread and household cleaners. A one stop shop for natural and local products. These soaps are just a small piece of the grand picture, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them.

Frequently asked questions
How can I extend the life of my handmade Soap and Shampoo?

Store your bar on a soap saver or soap dish, do not let it sit in water. Sitting in a puddle will shorten the life of your bar.

Do you offer bulk discounts?

Yes, I offer bulk discounts and have done occasional wholesale orders. All bulk/wholesale orders are handled through my personal website. Little-farmyard.com and processed via paypal. Please message me at my email address, amyd@little-farmyard.com, with information regarding what you are looking for and the quantity you are looking for. Please keep in mind when ordering: custom orders will take longer to complete, and soap takes 5 weeks to cure.

Is your company cruelty free?

Yes! Little Farmyard is proudly Leaping Bunny Certified.

How does the "Free Shipping Guaranty" Work?

In order to qualify for free shipping your order from my shop must be over $35 dollars. This amount is after any coupon or discounts. I will ship the order to one address only, no split shipping. I choose the mail class service based on size and weight of the box. If a package is returned to me due to an incorrect address or any other error, the purchaser must pay for any additional shipping charges.

Are your shipments plastic free?

This is going to be a two part answer:)
1- IF I am shipping sturdy items, then yes the package will be 100% biodegradable. I ship in recycled cardboard boxes, packing material is paper, even the tape is biodegradable (plant based too:).
2- IF I am shipping breakable items like bath bombs, I might need to use bubble wrap or shipping peanuts. Shipping peanuts are made of corn starch and can be added to water and disposed of (biodegradable and earth friendly). The bubble wrap is plastic. I reuse the wrap from any shipments I receive (this is rare), and I use them for storage and transport to craft fairs. After using it at least 3 times, it might be used to protect my products in shipments. I always encourage you to find another use for it:)

Is COVID-19 affecting the Shop?

07/25/2020 Update:
As of today my shop is continuing to operate as normal. I am a one woman shop. As long as I am in good health I will continue making and shipping products. I want you all to know that I sanitize all surfaces and tools when making products, I wear gloves, a hairnet and a face mask while creating these products.
All packages are sent via the USPS system. Be aware that USPS is experiencing delays on all mail classes. The USPS is experiencing a large increase in volume while also dealing with less staff. On average I have seen packages take an extra two days to be delivered on top of the current time frame. If you need something by a certain date please reach out before ordering.

Custom and personalized orders

Yes I can accommodate some custom orders. If you have an allergy to an ingredient, or you would like a product in a different scent, please message me and we can work on a custom order for you. I can't order a whole new scent, but I can go through the scents I have and see if there's something that fits your personal taste.
