About

Custom Photo Cards for Any Occassion

I started designing photo cards (truly by accident) when my first son turned one and I made his first birthday invitation. I loved the creative outlet and the end product. Evidently, family and friends did, too, because I kept getting compliments on them. Soon, I was asked to create cards for them. I did a couple here and there for various people and occasions and really enjoyed the process. I longed to do it for others, but like everyone (or at least Stuart Smalley from Saturday Night Live) I didn’t know if I was good enough, smart enough and if, doggone it, people would like me. Plus, the logistics of setting up my own web site without a lot of resources or knowledge to do so seemed daunting. But then my sister-in-law turned me on to Etsy . . . and here I am! I have a BA and MA in communications and worked for six years in marketing before becoming a stay-at-home mom. This provides my family with a little extra cash without me having to run the rat race to get it. Plus, I don’t have to leave my kiddos! For those of you interested (and I hear some really are!), my birthday is June 18 (same as Etsy's!).

Inspiration strikes in a couple of different ways. Sometimes, I will think of a new concept (such as an expecting card) and design some samples to offer in my shop. Other times, I want to try different design styles such as subway art or chalkboard art. Again, I give it a whirl and . . . viola! I have a new photo card to peddle. Because I believe everyone should have the opportunity to create to a one-of-kind photo card that suits them just so, I also offer customers the opportunity to "design" a card themselves. Basically, I take their vision and we work together to make it a reality. What fun!

I feel blessed to do something I love and be able to share it with the world. Thank you for taking the time to visit my shop and learn a little more about me!
