I have always been fascinated by photographs; that a single second can be captured forever. When I look at a photograph I remember where I was, what I was doing, how I felt. From junior high on, I knew I wanted to be a photographer.

After getting married in 2009, I decided to take up photography full time. I started exploring the different ways of displaying my work in a way that people wouldn't expect and that is when I started making jewelry using my photographs. From the start my photo jewelry was a huge hit! Things were starting to pick up and for over a year a experimented and perfected my jewelry to make top quality products.

At a craft fair I had someone ask about making a necklace using their photo and I thought, why not? Again, I started small, adding 2 custom necklace designs to my photo etsy site and the first Christmas season was great. I found that I loved making the custom pieces, just as much as my own. I loved hearing people's stories and was fascinated that something I made routinely made people cry when given as a gift. That is when Little Purple Crab (although it has had a few name changes) began. Rather than fill my photo etsy store, I created a new store, just for custom orders. 2013 was our first Christmas in the new store and it was a big success! I currently live with my husband Daniel, in Elk Grove, CA. We have two wonderful boys, Jonah and Isaiah. We love spending our weekends with family and friends and enjoying life to the fullest!
