About

Silver jewellery that is wild at heart

I have been making crafts for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, growing up in Devon, UK, I would always be hand making presents for friends and family - bookmarks, earrings, clothes, woven mug coasters.

A few years ago I discovered jewellery making and attended an evening class in designing silver jewellery. I've always loved the great outdoors and have been lucky enough to travel the world. I was inspired to try imprinting nature onto my jewellery and many of my pieces feature falling leaves, real leaf prints and glass drops in natural colours. I'm also inspired by the beautiful natural surroundings of York where I am now based with my husband and two rescue cats.

In 2012, I started running a hedgehog hospital to rescue wild European hedgehogs. I transformed my garage into a series of rabbit hutches, each of which can house a wild hedgehog with a bedroom and food area. Here they stay with me until they are well again. They come to me with all sorts of problems - malnourished, dehydrated, ringworm, injuries, too small to survive the winter... I care for them until they are able to be released back into the wild. It is hard work and many of them need to be hand fed or bathed to help get rid of parasites.

I launched my shop to combine my two loves of jewellery making and hedgehogs. All the proceeds from my shop go towards running the hospital and paying for the drugs, food and treatments the hedgehogs need. It is amazing how many mealworms and cat biscuits a small hedgehog can munch through! People buying from my shop are helping this vital work and I have so far released more than 300 hedgehogs back to the wild.

All my jewellery is made using recycled silver and is presented in a recycled card box - so it is eco-friendly too :-)

I hope you will take a look around, find something special and take heart in the fact that your purchase also helps a wild creature to go back where it belongs. You can see how your purchase helps by following my hedgehog stories on facebook - @littlesilverhedgehog.

If you would like a design in a different shape, size, colour, please get in touch and I can create something special just for you.

Welcome to my shop! I make silver jewellery to support my hedgehog hospital for poorly and injured wild hedgehogs. My designs are all inspired by nature and wildlife and include earrings, bracelets, necklaces and cufflinks. 100% of the profits buys food and medicines for the hedgehogs as I nurse them back to health and then release them into the wild.

Each purchase comes gift wrapped in an eco-friendly Little Silver Hedgehog box tied with pretty ribbon and information about my hedgehog rescue work.

I love making unique creations so please get in touch if you would like something special just for you. I can make many of my designs in different sizes, shapes and colours and can also hand engrave a short name, word or initial on the back of many pieces.

Orders will be posted using Royal Mail first class or equivalent service to overseas. I use tracked and signed for orders over £25 sent overseas.

I hope your order will arrive safely but if any items are damaged in the post or do not arrive, please get in touch within 14 days of the dispatch notification being sent. I suggest allowing up to 3 days for first class post (longer at Christmas) within the UK and up to 20 days for post to Europe, USA, Canada and elsewhere. Very occasionally, items sent overseas can take longer than this to some postal areas, especially if they are checked by customs.
