About

Jewelry artist goals.

My goal is to successfully segue from a full time healing profession to full time metalsmith jewelry artist, and maybe even expand into accessories and home goods one day. I'm sure it won't be graceful, but I'm giving it a go. I grew up in an arts and crafts DIY family and I credit my upbringing for this desire to create, and I know that when I'm not making something there is a noticeable void. To make a living at it would be a blessing!

I don't have a formal degree but over the years have taken many metalsmith classes. If I could do it again I would get a jewelry fabrication/design degree, but my current fantasy is going to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico to study silver smithing.

The meaning behind the name: Little Toro Designs is owned and run by a Taurus. Hailing from a family of rancher cowboys and residing in the Sonoran desert made choosing the Spanish word for "bull" a natural decision. Plus, I can be a little stubborn sometimes!

It is impossible to not be inspired by the desert southwest environment - the hot hot heat and prickly creatures, unusual plants and impressive vistas. And the history of this place is so colorful and vibrant. The amazing trifecta of cultures, Native American, Mexican, and cowboy, sustains my imagination and craft.

Frequently asked questions

I absolutely do custom orders and am happy to discuss any ideas you might have. Please note that custom orders are final sales.

If you'd like a chain length other than what is specified, or a different color, don't hesitate to ask!

Little Toro Designs jewelry pieces are handcrafted with care and should withstand years of normal wear. However, stones and enamel may chip or crack if dropped on hard surfaces so use care when handling your jewelry.

Enamel pieces may be cleaned with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasives and chemicals. You can use a polishing cloth on the metal parts if it's a mixed metal piece.

Brass and silver will oxidize and attain a vintage look, but a polishing cloth can be used to remove oxidation if you prefer.

Please note if the metal has an added patina (the metal has been purposefully oxidized as part of the design), do not clean with anything other than soap or water or the original metal color will be exposed.

Every Little Toro Designs piece comes gift wrapped in either a hand stamped box or muslin bag, always ready for gift giving.
