5 out of 5 starsHaven't knit this yet, and while I've made this type of sock before, it was her delightful cable that attracted me to this pattern and am looking forward to working it. Excellent cable chart as well as written instructions provided because we all know some of us want one, and some work the other.

And there will always be sweet little amigurumi friends here to cuddle and love!
I love making things - and sharing my creations with other people is what it's all about.
I grew up with yarn in my hands. My grandma started it with Cat's Cradle, then weaving pot holders with loops of nylon. When my first pot holder was woven, I had to get it off the loom somehow, so my mom taught me how to crochet the loops off the loom. That was my first experience with crochet.
Through the years, Grandma taught me how to knit, just to give me something to do. I wasn't very good at sitting still. Mom taught me how to crochet granny squares and soon after, my dolls were all wearing the most amazing outfits - all based on granny square crochet. I figured out how to increase and decrease to get the shapes that I wanted mostly by trial and error.
As I grew older and the 70s, with their wild crocheted and otherwise handmade fashions morphed into the 80s, my love affair with yarn cooled down. I learned to play guitar (a little) and fancied myself to be a songwriter. I studied music seriously, played professionally with the 234th Army Band, Oregon Army National Guard and eventually, after marrying and becoming a stay at home mom, realized that I really missed my creative time. I had never completely given up knitting and crochet, but I dove into learning more techniques and made fiber arts more and more of a focus.
Today, I have seven daughters and two sons - all of whom have had some experience creating things with yarn. Spinning, knitting, crocheting, macramé, tatting or embroidery. I believe that we can all learn so much from these creative experiences that I have made a point of passing these skills on to my children. I truly love sitting in my living room working on projects with my kids!
A lot of my little creations begin as ideas that my children describe to me. I do my best to sculpt them out of yarn and stuffing and I really enjoy seeing them develop their own distinctive personalities as I work with them.
I hope you enjoy my little friends!
