I knit as a way to bring more beauty into this world.

The name, Liver Chick, came from the fact that in 2008 I had acute liver failure and received a liver transplant. The events surrounding my transplant made me a very rare case and I became known around the hospital as "that liver chick".

As a result of the transplant, I suffered from PTSD. Anyone who has ever experienced PTSD knows just how dark the world can seem. Knitting became my way of coping and also a way for me to bring beauty into a world that seemed so dark and grey.

I continue to knit because there is no such thing as too much beauty.

Hi, I'm Michelle. I'm a girl. I had a liver transplant. I make stuff with my hands and then I sell them in my shop. The end. (Well, just how long did you expect a "short" bio to be?)

Additional policies and FAQs
I make every effort to send you a handmade, well made and unique item.

I give you due warning that I live in a house where there are cats and a dog. Although I take as many precautions as possible to keep yarn and animals away from each other, a few hairs do manage to stray into my work from time to time. Please keep this in mind if you or someone you are ordering for has animal allergies.

I try my best to photograph all items in natural light so that the true color of the garment shows through. However, colors may vary slightly depending on your computer's monitor settings.
