Announcement
I'm, back from Oaxaca and will be posting new items this weekend...but it you had your eye on something special for yourself or as a gift for the Holidays....now's the time to order it so it arrives quickly...
I've been living and working in Mexico - since 2007 and during this time I've traveled to ferias/fairs, markets and festivals in the central and southern (Oaxaca and Chiapas) Mexico. Documenting traditional textiles, meeting with artisans and supporting coops.
As a result of these relationships I am able to offer the BEST traditional textiles, clothing, accessories and jewelry that Mexico has to offer.
My "Textile Fiestas of Mexico - a travelers guide " by Sheri Brautigam ia a book/guide for collecting and traveling to all the major textile centers to experience the festival of indigenous Mexico. Available NOW here in my shop and on Amazon.
Some of these 'trajes'/outfits from my personal collection are expensive (but RARE and worth it) so Lay-away is possible. 1/3 down and the balance in 30-60 days. Don't miss getting the Mexican clothing of your dreams.
The objective of my LivingTextile Etsy store is foremost - to support traditional artisan who are still making the 'living textiles' of Mexico. This is in hopes you start your own collection of beautiful hand made textiles. Your purchase supports also my documentary work..for my blog on Wordpress, and Face Book with noticias of Mexico's vibrant culture.

5 out of 5 starsAnother beautiful selection from this shop. Good quality, great colors. As described, and more than met my expectations. As with many Guatemalan huipils, the head opening is small for my big head!

4 out of 5 starsVery nice, though this was more white. Came with a smell that is not new so now have to dry clean at an organic cleaner which costs a bit more than the norm to get the smell out. Appreciate discount seller gave. Nice garment and happy to receive a likeness from my Hopi ancestors - although Mexican there is a shared culture amongst many Indigenous. Happy to have found this on Etsy regardless. Ty!

I opened this shop to share my passion for textiles from Mexico (and sometimes other places). The last 12 years I have been documenting indigenous traditional textiles throughout different parts of Mexico, but particularly Oaxaca and Chiapas.

Traditional Black potters of Valle Central de Oaxaca. Trying out a new more elegant beaded necklace style. This a one-of-a-kind necklace.
