Announcement   "Liz Born is a Chicago-based printmaker, curator, and teaching artist with a BFA in Printmedia & Fibers from SAIC. Working primarily in relief, she carves mutant dream species that illustrate the communion between animals and human-animals. Her woodcuts feature a handful of characters, archetypal and mammalian, confronting themselves during acts of eating, birthing, and self-contemplation. Liz has taught relief, screenprinting, and intaglio at Spudnik Press, The Harrington College of Design, and The Hyde Park Art Center. Her work has been featured at venues including Heaven Gallery, Woman-Made, and the Jane Addams Hull House Museum."

Welcome! My name is Liz and I'm a Chicago-based painter and printmaker specializing in Reduction Woodcuts. I make a drawing on wood, carve the block, and print each image in a limited edition. These are all original, hand-made works--nothing digital about 'em! One might think of the woodcuts as "Multiple Originals," each with its own character and unique features. I am open to new projects, commissions, illustrations, and custom orders. Please contact me if you have ay questions or comments: lizborn(at)gmail.com
