Thanks for viewing my work!

This face jug is extraordinary. Definitely art gallery quality. Would do again.

About

Face Jugs Head East, Return to Roots

I like to think my Ulster Scot Southern Appalachian roots drove me to find out how to make traditional Ugly Jugs, and it just took off from there.

From traditional to portraits and skulls, the jug remains my main vessel form. There's something endlessly amusing about a head with a spout on top.

I wanted a wider audience for them and Etsy would give me the world.

As it turns out, no matter what else I've tried in the shop, it's those jugs that get looked at and bought. My buyers have endlessly empowered me to push myself to attempt more complex faces and forms. Who knows what variation I will explore next?

And true to their roots as well, most of my collectors are East of the Mississippi, so my jugs go where the tradition is lively. Ya gotta love that.

Clay can take any shape. I like it looking back at me! The face has a long history in ceramic art. I find I'm happy to translate ancient to contemporary, rustic to refined, silly to solemn expressions into functional vessels, usually jugs. Enjoy!

Lesson learned: Nothing but nothing is better than good design. Without it, the excellent crafting will go to waste. End of story.

Hello All!
Thanks for stopping by my shop! I handbuilt all my ceramic pieces. I enjoy combining my love of form with texture and painting with ceramic underglazes and glazes. Whether a piece is functional or sculptural, it pleases me to include rich surfaces, humor and an expressive narrative nudge in them. I aim for you to be completely happy purchasing, using and enjoying what I have made.

Contact me within: 3 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 7 days of delivery
I don't accept exchanges or cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Returns that you initiate are accepted within 7 days of receiving your purchase. Buyer (you!) pays for return shipping and handling. My refund will be for initial purchase price, less shipping, only and will be handled as soon as I receive your return package in good condition as sold. As always, let's communicate freely and often!

If your purchase is damaged or broken in shipping, I would appreciate you sending me a photo of it. To initiate a claim, you will need to take the package, packing materials and contents to the local shipper, whether Post Office or ? I will help however I can.
Payment
You can use PayPal, your credit card, debit card or Etsy Gift Card. They all work fine.
I am able to ship within a day or two from when your payment if confirmed.

I appreciate accurate and timely communication and try to always do that myself. Things just go better for everyone.

Without a prompt payment and/or clear communication, I will feel free to cancel the transaction, per Etsy's recommendations. If you need to cancel, tell me as soon as you can, as the Seller is the only party who is able to do that.
Shipping
I will ship your purchase when your payment is received and confirmed.
I primarily use USPS, sometimes UPS, whichever suits our mutual costs and time-frames.

My shipping and handling costs reflect the fact that ceramics require extra cushioning and insurance in order to arrive safely and securely.

If I have overestimated or you have purchased multiple items, I will promptly refund any excess shipping costs over $1 back to you.

I re-use packing materials to keep costs down and the landfills emptier.

I usually ship within three business days of confirmation of your payment. I will convo or email you about it if it will be different. (I will probably convo you with details anyway!)

At the moment, I am unable to ship Internationally without special arrangements.
