Love it- very cute. Only wish it had a little snap or Velcro or something to hold the little door closed.

Who Knew?!?

It all started with an aunt who taught me to love quilts. She quilted and shared that love with me. She gave me my first quilt named "Kitty Quilt". It had cats on it (shocking, I know!). That is where the love of fabric..and quilts in particular started. I began quilting myself when I was an adult as a fun hobby. After a few years, my husband felt we had enough quilts and that I should do something with all of them. I gave many away and I finally decided that I should try selling them. I sold my first quilt on EBAY (shh! Don't tell Etsy) for $40! I realized that there was a market for my work. I tried to sell them locally but had no luck. Finally, someone told my husband about a new little start-up called ETSY. I opened up my shop and life has never been the same.

I was a youth pastor for 15 years before deciding to quit to be a full-time mom and part time business owner.

God has blessed us with 2 amazing children who were both adopted from Ethiopia. We brought our daughter home in 2008 and our son just a few months ago in 2012. As I look back over my life so far, I am overcome with awe. At 18, I never would have pictured my life like this, but to be honest, it is the most incredible life! I couldn't have even imagined in my wildest dreams the adventures we have been on and the turns our lives have taken.

I love what I do! I love quilts and fabric. I can't believe that I get to wake up every day and do something that I care about. Having my ETSY shop has allowed me to be able to stay home with my children. I am able to make dinner each night and still have a creative outlet once the children are in bed.

I love being a mom! (who knew?!?) And I love being an adoptive mom. My heart beats for orphaned and abandoned children worldwide. I cannot solve the world's problems, but I can make a difference in my little corner of the world.

I support Rapha House ( by donating 5% of all my sales. This amazing non-profit rescues abandoned children from the slave trade. I am proud to get to help, even in a small way.

Take a look around my shop. Drop me a message if you have any questions about my shop, my life, adoption, or even Rapha House. I love to chat!
