About

Top quality props and prosthetics for cosplayers and collectors.

Hi! We're Desirée and Brian, the artists behind Locked in the Cellar Creations. Each of us has loved making our own decor, costumes and - in Brian's case - Halloween make-ups since we were little. After we met, we quickly discovered that we make a great team inside and outside the workshop, and we used our combined skills and talents to set up our little creative business. Our workshop has always been in the basement of our home, and since we spend more time down there than anywhere else, we aptly named ourselves Locked in the Cellar Creations.

Our business officially started in 2014, after my love for cosplaying led me to work in a Halloween store for a season. It was during that period that I realized exactly how poor the quality is of mass produced props and prosthetics, and for perfectionists like ourselves it was hard to grasp why these products were so popular.
We had all these designs for make-ups and props that we had made for ourselves in the past, and when offered an opportunity to have a booth at a pop culture/cosplay convention, we decided to run a few copies and see how they would be received. Customer response exceeded our expectations. Everybody loves the quality, the detail and the super thin edges of the prosthetics.
We consult with haunters, cosplayers and horror fans, and we work hard to expand our retail product line with new and exciting products each year!

We also work as prop makers and SFX make-up artists for local, independant film productions.

    Owner, Maker, Customer Service

I grew up in The Netherlands, where Halloween isn't very big, but I have always been fascinated by it, as well as being a big Fantasy lover. Owning a creative business has always been a dream of mine.

    Owner, Maker

I have been making my own Halloween props since I was 8 years old. Back then there weren't a lot of Halloween props in stores, so I had to learn how to make everything myself! After going to film school I decided my real passion is horror-makeup.

Frequently asked questions
Can a prosthetic be reused?

If you take good care of it and clean it carefully after use, you can probably reuse it a few times. However, the first application will be best as the edges are still perfectly thin.

Can one of your products be customized for me?

We try our best to meet all customization request, for a small extra fee. Each product is handmade, so we can customize them up to a certain point.
Can we do a custom colour/paint job? Yes, of course!
Can we mirror a left fitting prosthetic for the right side, or change the size/proportions of a prosthetic? Not really. Prosthetics come out of a mold, that can't be reshaped. The only way to do this is to make a completely new product for you, which will cost extra.

Shipping time

If we have a product in stock, we usually ship it out the next day. Sometimes we need a little extra time when we're out of stock and have to make new prosthetics to fulfill your order, or if we're dealing with high volume. If you need your product before a certain date, always let us know. If we can't do it, we'll let you know right away!
Regular shipping takes 2-5 days in Canada, 4-7 days to the US and 4-8 days internationally (sorry, no tracking available).
Some products may have an option for Xpress Shipping (only available for US and Canada customers). If this is available, your product will ship out the next day and be sent with 2 or 4 day shipping with tracking.

Do you make custom products?

Yes. If you like our work and you are looking for a specific prop or prosthetic, feel free to send us a message and ask for the options. After we have all the details, we will let you know whether we can accept your custom order. We will send you a quote after which you can decide if you want to accept the offer or not. Once we have started working on your custom order, it can't be cancelled.
You will have 2 review moments where you can request modifications: once after the first phase (usually the sculpting phase) is completed, and once when the product gets finalized.
If you want more than 2 reviews/modifications, and extra fee might be applied.
All creative properties remain with us, and we reserve the right to make and sell copies.
