WOW! What a beautiful piece. This mug is a gift for my dad, he always wanted a large ceramic mug. This one takes the cake! The shipping was quick and the mug was wrapped up tight and safe :) Thank you!!!

Welcome to my pottery world. My pots are both wheel thrown and hand built. I add some kaolin to a locally dug clay and use various materials found nearby. For example, granite from my recently drilled well produces a natural dark glaze. Also use NC red clay, hardwood ashes, roadstone from local quarry and other materials as I have discovered them.
Firing with salt reveals nature's inherent beauty. Essential for me is using materials in their original state prior to modern industrial processing. My clay and much of my glazing comes from nature's unprocessed raw materials.

I oncefire which means the raw pots are loaded in the kiln and fired once to maturity ( eliminates bisque firing). Salt is introduced when kiln glows yellow-white and kiln is near end of firing.

The fired pot is hard, durable and will last forever- a long time !

Food safe, ovenproof and can be microwaved.
