This baby rattle came out perfectly! :) I'm very content. My husband and I agreed that if we saw this at a store (organic) for $15.00 we would definitely buy it. The shop owner also went out of her way to customize it a little for me. So nice!

About

Eliminating plastic from baby's lives ...one crocheted toy at a time

I grew up on a farm in Iowa with two older brothers and taught myself how to crochet, embroider, latch hook and macrame (yes, it was the 70's!) to fend off bordom.

Fast forward a few decades, after our first child was born I noticed that 95% of her toys were plastic. I believe that plastic has its place, it's just not in baby's mouths. My distaste for plastic baby toys and love for amigurumi prompted me to pick up my crochet hook and create. With hook in hand, I opened up my Etsy shop in 2007, and have enjoyed bringing my organic crochet goodies to people around the globe.

Besides organic cotton crochet, I also enjoy creating items out of felted wool from upcycled sweaters. These are available at the craft shows I attend (see my shop announcement for upcoming shows).

I enjoy making baby-safe eco-friendly baby items that can be passed down to many generations. I make each of my organic crochet creations as safe as I can for babies and toddlers--I never use plastic eyes, small felt pieces or buttons that are potential choking hazards. In order to offer a range of "green" in my products, many of the yarns I use are organically dyed or colorgrown (not dyed), while others are colored with low impact dyes. I want all of my customers to feel good about giving my toys to their children.

To ensure the longevity of my creations, please hand wash and air dry all items. Don't forget to use common sense and check all baby toys for loose ends--even though I stitch with care, babies are very STRONG!

I encourage everybody reading this to do what they can to leave this earth a better place for our children. Do what you can, then try to do a bit more :)

Payment
Please allow 4 days production time for all orders over $9 (US) then one extra day for each additional item. For custom and wholesale orders, please allow one week production time for every $20 spent.

Payment is due at the time of sale for listed items. For wholesale orders of $100 or more, I require a 50% downpayment, with the remaining 50% due upon receipt of goods. If no payment is received one week after purchase, the sale will be cancelled.

Please don't hesitate to convo me with any questions!
Shipping
I ship my items via First Class USPS. Normal delivery time for this is 4-7 days (when shipping domestically). During holidays (Christmas, Valentines, Mothers Day, etc.) the delivery time can be as long as 7-10 days. If you require a speedier delivery time, please convo me for upgrade fees. All international orders are shipped Monday-Friday only. Delivery confirmation is available for packages sent via First Class USPS for an additional fee of $2.10. Please convo me upon purchase if you would like this shipping feature.

I use Etsy addresses to send all items. If you choose to send your order to another location, please inform me within 2 days of purchase.

When possible, I ship my items using clean, recycled packages. Very rarely I run out of boxes/envelopes and am forced to use a new package, so I apologize in advance! :) I also print my packing slips on paper I salvage from my church's recycle bins. I encourage all my customers to recycle/reuse the packing materials to "complete the loop"!

I always refund buyers when I overestimate shipping costs over $1 (US).

As of 1/27/2013 USPS shipping rates increased dramatically for First Class International postage. I don't make money from shipping fees. While I try to keep my shipping expenses low, please keep in mind that printer ink, tape, gas to drive to the post office, etc. all costs money. Thanks for understanding!

For custom and Wholesale orders, the buyer is responsible for shipping charges. The shipping cost will be estimated and entered into the listing. As always, any overcharge of shipping fees will be refunded to the buyer.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will refund a return or exchange a NON-USED item up to one week after receipt of goods. Due to the nature of my items, used merchandise may not be returned or exchanged. The buyer is responsible for all shipping fees for returns or exhanges.

If an order is lost in the mail, a replacement order will be placed the day notification. If the original (lost) order is received after the replacement, the buyer is responsible for returning the duplicate order.
Additional policies and FAQs
I offer a 30% discount on wholesale of purchases $100 (US) or more. In return for the discount, I require my Etsy shop name be used in the listing for wholesale to e-commerce websites. For wholesale to brick and mortar shops, my tags with my logo and shop name must remain on each item until sold to the consumer.

If you'd like an item in a different color than what is pictured, please ask!
