All of our jewelry is handmade, so your piece is made from scratch once we receive your order. We want each and every item to be special, from the length of the chain, to the stone we pick specifically for you. We do not keep an inventory because everything is made-to-order. We take pride in creating beautifully packaged orders. They are packaged the same way whether marked as a gift or not and arrive nice enough to gift someone. Also, each piece of jewelry comes in its own little jewelry box. You can view a photo of our packaging on our product pages. The best way to insure your necklace is the right length is to measure yourself with a string. Please refer to the sizing guide photo in our listings.

▸ What is 14k Gold-Filled?

Gold-filled is the next best option to 14k solid gold. It is a less expensive option and it is hypoallergenic. Gold-filled is actual 14k gold heat-bonded with an inner core of brass as opposed to gold plated which is a thin layer of gold liquid solution electroplated over a base metal. Brass is used because it is hypoallergenic. All our clasps and ear wires will be marked 14/20 GF.

Gold-filled is different and a higher quality alternative to gold plating. Gold plating is a layer of gold electroplated onto a base metal. We do offer a few components in gold plating but in a higher quality micron option.

We don't recommend wearing gold-filled in the shower but some people do and have no problem with it. Lolabean is a small family handmade jewelry business that began in 2005 in New York City.

Hello my name is Tiffany Bean and I’m a jewelry designer living in New York City with my husband, Craig, and our two young boys. Lolabean began in 2005 and has grown into a family business. I make about 80% of the collection and my husband makes the rest with custom stamping.

I studied at Parsons School of Design where I found myself sketching jewelry and day dreaming about owning a small business one day. Following school, I worked as a graphic designer and later at the Art Directors Club. While at the ADC, I worked alongside industry leaders, creative, innovative and inspiring people. It was an eye-opening experience that gave me the confidence to develop and shape my own business and brand. It wasn't long before I stepped out on my own and started Lolabean. Having a background in graphic design has had a strong influence on my work, allowing me the freedom to not only create jewelry but also create my own branding, packaging, photography and business identity.

My jewelry line has been described as minimalist and feminine and the collection is perfect for layering several pieces and lengths together. I love creating jewelry that doesn't weigh one down and simple pieces that can be worn daily.

Living in New York City has shaped who I am both personally and creatively and I draw inspiration from everything around me. The jewelry line is handmade at our home in New York City.

If you’re item breaks within 3 months, just contact us through Etsy and we’ll completely take care of it for you. Within 6 months, free repair and you’ll only have to cover shipping costs.
Payment
We accept all major credit cards, Paypal and Etsy gift cards. Checks and money orders are also accepted and orders are made and shipped after we receive payment.

Please be aware of your country’s custom charges and practices. Information and prices vary from country to country, and we have no way of knowing what they are outside of the U.S. This is especially true of the UK and all of Europe. Once your order leaves the United States, we no longer have control so please know your country’s policies and duty fees before ordering. Customs processing times are unpredictable. Your order can sit in your country's customs up to 2 weeks and occasionally longer.

▸ When will my order ship?

Please view our production times above. If you need your order by a certain date, please send us a message through Etsy and we will do our best to fulfill your request. For more information about your order, click <Purchase and Reviews> under your profile to view the estimated delivery date, order status, and tracking info.

▸ Why hasn’t my order shipped yet?

All of our jewelry is handmade, so your piece is made from scratch once we receive your order. We want each and every item to be special, from the length of the chain, to the stone we pick specifically for you. We do not keep an inventory because everything is made-to-order. We make our pieces in the order we receive them unless you send us a message through Etsy to specify otherwise. If you need your order by a certain date, please send us a message and we will do our best to fulfill your request. If you only put this information in <notes to seller> at checkout, we may not see it in time, so please send us a separate message too.

▸ What if I need my order by a certain date?

If you need your order by a certain date, please send us a message through Etsy and request a faster production time. You could also upgrade your shipping to Priority or Priority Express for faster postal shipping. Always keep in mind that Priority Express is the only guaranteed delivery service. We only see your <note to seller> comments you leave at checkout when we begin making your order so please make sure to send us an additional message through Etsy. We'll try our very best to get your order to you by the specified date!

It is always best to contact us directly through Etsy. If you have not placed your order, click the <message seller> button. If you have already placed an order, click the <contact the shop> button under <purchases> and we’ll do our best to get back to you within 24 hours.
