I have been a weaver for over 40 years and my studio is on a beautiful lake. While I primarily do handwovens, I also love to do kumihimo which is Japanese braiding. I love a challenge that helps me explore new techniques and push my skills into new areas. I am living my dream of focussing on my creative interests after retiring. I take pride in the work I do and hope you enjoy my efforts. My goal is to pay for my "habit" and have fun doing it!

5 out of 5 starsThis is my second order from this store. I love my glasses pouch so much I decided to get more, and different, items for gifts. I'll probably be back again, too! They are beautiful, soft, floppy, seemingly well-made (though I'm not an expert), practical...

5 out of 5 starsThe perfect case for glasses: it protects them, is small and light weight. It’s made of lovely hand woven fabric. Thank you, Fran!

5 out of 5 starsThis small hand bag is beautifully made. It’s just what I need for going for walks when I need to bring my phone and a couple of items. It arrived soon after I ordered it with no issues.

5 out of 5 starsMy tea cozy is beautiful and I am enjoying my nice hot teas! An added bonus was that Fran kindly refunded $5.00 to me as shipping costs were not as much as she had anticipated. That's wonderful customer service. Thank you, Fran!

5 out of 5 starsI love it! Perfectly sized, soft, floppy, pretty. My glasses came with giant case that doesn't fit I'm my purse, eye roll. This is exactly what I wanted. Thanks for a great transaction, too!

About LoomLakeDesigns
-
First I decide what I'm going to make and choose what pattern, yarn and colours I will use.
-
I decide how many items to make and therefore how long the warp needs to be. Then I wind the warp.
-
I wind the warp onto the loom.
-
I thread each thread through a heddle following the order that will produce my pattern.
-
After the warp is tied on, I weave the items. Once finished, I cut it off and finish the items appropriately.
The love of fibre and the intricacies of pattern
